Match Day Thread Fat Tuesday Chairboys v U's 1st March 22

With a quarter of the season left to play the Chairboys take on the U's in a rearranged fixture from Boxing Day when our opponents cried off sighting Covid but only had one case in their squad although they did have other injuries. This is a game that we need to win to get our season going again after going all through February without a win.
Gaz really needs to have Tafazolli back to play alongside Stewart in a in a back 2/3 instead of playing 2 fullbacks at centre back we are really short of true CBs and have one out on loan why didn't we bring in back up in the window is beyond me, Hanlan and Mehmeti will fight it out with Kaikai and McCleary for a place up front with Vokes.
I will be staying at home for this one I may watch it on Wanderers TV or I could wait for the highlights if there are any lets hope Stocko has a quiet night and keeps a clean sheet and our forwards get among the goals

 

The problem now as we have led in five of our losses even if we go in front we are going to panic in defence, the Ferguson jibe about Spurs comes to mind, go in at half time 2 up Cambridge manager says it's Wycombe lads we can win this

 

I think we are close to a balance. Earlier in the season we had very low scoring games but knew we had it in us to smash someone. Now the goals are flowing but sadly at both ends. Surely it will just take a few tweaks, I pray that it starts tonight.

We actually went in front & then went onto win, first time we managed that since the Oxford game on the 15th January

 

Good win there. I assume we started to play football, with Obita, McCleary an Mehmeti, all on together. And, at last, Stewart and Taffy both in defence = clean sheet

 

We played some good stuff defence looked to be back to it's best all the midfield did their job Wing's best game by far and Vokes is one of the best target men in the division
