Turkey closes Dardanelles and Bosphorus Straits https://www.navalnews.com/naval-new...es-the-dardanelles-and-bosphorus-to-warships/
This 17 mile traffic jam of vehicles from Russia, I don’t get it at all. It’s not as though everyone can’t see it.
What an absolute **** of a woman she is! I could only manage to the part where she tries to say Russia aren't the aggressors
The Russians aren't that dumb. The luftwaffe taught them the need for air defence to move with their armour back in WW2. I doubt they have forgotten that. You would think that we would be seeing targeting pod video of air strikes or drone camera video of artillery hitting the column, yet we just have this. We don't have any publicised intel about how the Ukrainian Air Force is doing - although the EU sending aircraft speaks volumes. Together Ukraine had about 200 aircraft of all types, Russia has more than that in their attack helicopter fleet! I guess the ex Warsaw Pact countries will have some Mig 29s and Su 22/24s that the Ukrainians will be type familiar with, but you have got to be looking at less than 100 aircraft. Beyond that, and unless things go on for over 6 months, then they won't have enough time to become proficient on other aircraft, let alone their weapon systems. I guess that the Russians have put up an integrated air umbrella of aircraft (including AEW&Cs), mobile SAMs, Manpads and even mobile AAA guns. I don't buy into this story that Ukraine can defeat the Russian forces. Russia has miscalculated what forces they needed to capture Ukraine, but the air force is the easiest to reinforce - most of the Soviet legacy aircraft will be rough field capable. Unless someone assassinates Putin then there is a lot more of this thing to play out yet.
I think Russia is over rated and have come across as being quite amateurish...imo. I'm obviously and clearly no expert tho.
All this puts football into perspective. The woman who cuts my hair, is Ukrainian, she is distraught... she hates the Russians! Has loads of relatives and friends she cannot get in touch with, lots of tears. Huge convoy of tanks, missiles and armoured vehicles heading towards Kyiv. I doubt the Ukrainians can do anything about them.
I know bugger all about warfare, but the first thing I would do is jam as many roads as possible with 1000s of lorries and f uck the engine so they can’t be moved.
As I said earlier, sheer mass will see the Russians eventually take their objectives. But that doesn’t mean it will be a victory if that makes sense. They are now onto 75% of their forces that they had lined up, after just sending in 30%. They seriously underestimated the will of the Ukrainians and currently even civvies are taking the piss out of them on the internet. His nuclear threat is in response to all of the above, because let’s be honest, if not for that threat, I reckon NATO could destroy those columns. It just has to be the worst “one sided” conflict of conventional warfare. Putin knows it, only yesterday praising his special forces. For what exactly? Ground forces have achieved the square root of **** all and I bet NATO Generals are laughing their cocks off behind the microphones and cameras
