Assuming it takes around 90pts to go up, we'd need to win ten out of eleven when we've just managed almost the opposite!

Id settle for a go in the raffle, and that's not in our own hands either

I never, at any point, said anything like that. I’m an optimist. I have hope. As stated it’s unlikely, but you ignore everything I say and just peddle your negative sarcasm. Seems to keep you happy

    Irrelevant.

You were personally wrong so could be wrong again.

Think what you like but don't instruct other people, who don't have your personality, how to think ...

    ... surely that's fair.

Here’s hoping, certainly wouldn’t be the last time…

My thinking may change a little if Fleetwood get a result at Wigan tomorrow…

And that's where 'reality' relies on assumptions.

During February Wigan only drew at home to Oxford and were humiliated by a team many described as shyte ...

.. their confidence will have taken a knock and we all know what effect that can have.

We were top very recently, just saying ...

I saw Iggy Pop at our club twice.

The first time he was wrecked and lasted half an hour before he threw the mike at the crowd and stormed off the stage ...

... the second time he was majestic and held the crowd in his hand for nearly three hours.

Talent and class are always there, although sometimes hidden.

I appreciate the optimism and hope of automatic promotion. You have to think it is a very long shot though. If you look at the form guide of the last six games the top 4 are in the top six (Rotherham, Sheff Wed, MK Dons and Oxford). Plymouth are 5th in the form table and 7th in the league, with a couple of games in hand on us. Wigan are stuttering but have still 10 points from the last six. We are down in 16th place with 5 points from 6 games. That to me means we arent just fighting to catch Wigan, but we also have to overhaul 4 or 5 other form teams who all have a start on us.

The performance against Wigan was excellent and gives us renewed hope, but in my book of the play offs only. Even if we were to win every game we may well struggle to make the top 2. If we can build momentum and see a return of a couple of players we may well be a team for the play offs. But we still have a fair bit of work to do to get to the levels of some of our competitors in that fight. MK look a good side and Sheff Wed are coming good at the right time. We will know a bit more after next Saturday - can we back our last performance up. Fingers crossed.

If you look at the form guide, coming up to Christmas, we were unstoppable.

Of course. My point is we need to completely reverse our form in a positive way but we also need 4 or 5 other clubs to do the same in the opposite way.

I totally see your point but I've seen clubs like Plymouth go from 'promoted' to possible play-offs in a few weeks ...

... all we can do is keep the faith and hope the team follows our lead.

Most people only go by the recent form guide , pointless taking much notice of anything more than 8 games ago

I'm looking no further than the Play-Offs personally, if we hit some form going into them I'll take that. If we get automatic (unlikely imo) I'll take that and AN becomes The Messiah!!

I’m pretty sure that’s how we all feel. Pretty sure that even the most optimistic think exactly like that. All is not lost. 90 points would normally get you promoted. Except since we’ve been down here seemingly!!

The others in the fight all have to play each other, so they all can’t keep winning. We just have to do our bit , full throttle. By end of March games played evens out, but only a few top team clashes…. Mostly against the current leaders.

Then quite a few 6 pointers in April

    Games to end March
Wigan: 6 Fleetwood, Wimbledon, MKDons, Crewe, Morecambe, Burton
MK Dons: 5 Rotherham, Cheltenham, Wigan, Cambridge, Crewe
Oxford: 5 Pompey, Burton, Shrewsbury, Ipswich, Morecambe
Sheff Wed: 6 Burton, Lincoln, Cambridge, Accrington, Gillingham, Cheltenham
Plymouth: 7 Morecambe, Wimbledon, Bolton, Pompey, Accrington, Cheltenham, Ipswich
Wycombe: 5 Cambridge, Crewe, Rotherham, Pompey, Fleetwood,
Lads: 5 Charlton, Fleetwood, Crewe, Lincoln, Rotherham

April 6 pointers: plus Wycombe, Wigan and Sheff Wed have a lot of Tuesday games to deal with that month
