It seems to me that the EU has gone much further than we have in terms of sanctions and is absolutely doing more than we are for refugees.
Maybe they are but those Russian tanks that are being destroyed and those helicopters that are coming down are coming from U.K. weapons. This is not a time to play politics. They are doing their bit and we are doing ours.

Not correct on sanctions. It was Boris that was pushing on Swift, and initially getting an adverse reaction from some EU members. We will take refugees and contribute £. Many Ukrainians are hoping for a short stay in Poland before being able to return to their homes.
Given that our government is in the process of passing a bill with the intention of making it as difficult as possible for refugees to seek asylum in Britain - in violation of our obligations under the 1951 Refugee Convention - do you think the EU could have got unanimous approval to open its borders to Ukrainians so quickly if Britain was still in it?
I think we have done a pretty good job at helping Ukraine. Training/weapons/aid/Swift/and Russian sanctions. Interesting listening to Skys EU loving reporter who said last week "The EU is divided on sanctions because (Germany/Italy) have a lot to lose but unless they act what is the point of the EU'? It's good that the EU has now taken a stronger stance.
I'll wait for the debate in Parliament, but someone had to bring some sanity to the Channel economic migrant problem. I doubt Parliament would pass legislation that would outlaw genuine refugees in need.
How do you know if they're genuine refugees or not if you make it illegal for them to come here to apply for asylum? Speculation now that Patel will be shamed into relenting on Ukrainian refugees by the EUs move.
I have just listened to Sky and the reporter said many of the refugees that were in a sports hall ( Polish border) we’re men and not even from Ukraine. They have come from other countries.
I imagine they have to apply for asylum outside the country rather than use criminal people traffickers. I haven't seen the draft legislation
There must be a system to sort genuine refugees like Ukranians, from economic migrants who deliberately destroy identity docs and pretend they're children when they're approaching middle age
Men from Ukraine are not allowed (?) or requested at least not to leave. They have been asked to stay and fight. So nearly all the men at the border crossings will be non nationals Ellers
I will help out anyone in need and I'm sure our country will but if some of these are economic migrants... its a bit sh!tty to take advantage of this situation.
