Seriously, wake up and smell the coffee. The West hasn’t declared two parts of the Ukraine as independent. The West hasn’t sent troops into Ukraine. The West isn’t physically attacking Ukraine. The West hasn’t killed any Ukrainian citizens or soldiers. Russia has done all of these. I don’t care about who is slanting what facts in reporting as the key facts are those above and they aren’t slanted. I don’t care if Russia feels threatened by the direction Ukraine was taking politically, it’s not Russia’s choice. Nothing and I mean absolutely nothing justifies what they have done and are doing. Those are the simple facts when you ignore all the flannel. Anything else is fudging. The West should be doing more but it doesn’t change the basic facts. The Western press are biased but it doesn’t change the basic facts. The USA are trying to extend their sphere of influence but it still doesn’t change the basic facts. Russia are in the wrong and the rest of the World should be helping Ukraine put things right. Putin is pushing his luck because we are all too scared to do what is necessary and he knows it. If Ukraine agree the United Nations should put together a substantial military force and send it in to the Ukraine and kick the Russians out. The rest of the World’s military might combined is bigger than Russia’s. It may seem extreme but we should learn from history that that is the only way to deal with a bully and psycho like Putin.
There seems to be some confusion on here. It appears anyone that's looking at the bigger picture and shining a light on our own counties antics is being confused with them defending this horrific invasion in some way. I'm going to make it clear that nobody has or is defending it and there's nothing wrong with anything they're saying. What the west wants if for the east to be a good little puppy and they've quite clearly had enough of Americas bullshit. This is the real world! We've been on a good roll for 80 years apart from the quiet little enterprises we've been embarking on anyway. It's not about Ukraine it's about reforming the Soviet Union and not playing second fiddle to the Yanks . If you keep chipping away at someone eventually they'll throw the kitchen sink at you. It's the people in the streets I care about and unfortunately that's who pays the ultimate price for rich people arguing over money. They're all ****s and Putin is a psychopath on top of that.

You'll never get this across they read too much Daily Mail and watch BBC News. We’ve clearly provoked Russia. Why is probably very complicated. It doesn’t make Putin right in what he’s doing. What is the point of NATO? Why was it set up? The name is quite revealing in itself. It begins with the words North Atlantic. Why are Ukraine, the Baltic states joining such an organisation? The West is keen to expand east right up to the Russian borders and have done since the end of WWII. It should stop doing that. Why does the US have bio labs all over the Ukraine for instance? Why do they have military installations all over Europe? People are up in arms from the Russians having military bases set up within their own borders. As you correctly note it doesn’t make what’s happening right and Putin is way too aggressive. However until people show the same anger towards their governments behaviours this type of **** will keep happening. It’s hypocrisy of the highest order. It’s incredible we are not more civil, demilitarised and more open this far into our existence. Unfortunately it’s countries like ourselves, the US, Russia, China etc and the greed of its leaders that prevents us progressing.

I agree 99% with this with the only Caveat being that it’s Putin who is making the calls here and not Russia per say. If he is taken out of the equation then I think none of this happens. I think Russia’s people may be part of the solution in this respect somehow. If we (nato) retaliate with force then the Russian people suffer. We have to cripple the country somehow without death. And Putin needs ended.
