Putin isn't afraid to harm innocent Ukranian citizens. This is war, we shouldn't be pussy footing around worrying about Olga from Gorky Park, or wee Aleksander getting pulled away from his comfy boarding school in the shires. We need to damage them so badly that they have no choice but to oust Putin - get them back queueing for bread like the glory days of the USSR, see how long he lasts then
The staff at Chernobyl are being held hostage at gunpoint ! What the **** does the lunatic plan if his invasion doesn't go to plan ? Sanctions that could take years to kick in just ain't gonna cut it, especially when we haven't targeted Putin, Abramovich and Usmanov which I find amazing. Also we haven't put them on their biggest back which holds all the Oligarchs money, pathetic. I listened to the woman that has been the head of clean up operations around Chernobyl for the past 30 years earlier and she was saying it will take at least a further 50 years before the area could be anything like safe to be around. Any serious bombing of that area could unleash radioactive material into the atmosphere of the whole of Europe, God knows the extent of damage that would cause. Truly frightening
And i was one of them, more in hope/desperation over having any actual basis or knowledge for saying as such.
No mate, you made it quite clear it was just your opinion and it was put over very well. It’s ok having opinions, that’s what this board is about, and we all sometimes get it wrong….what pisses me off is when certain individuals accuse others of talking “rubbish” and belittle others…and then act the victim. I better say no more
The Ukrainian MOD urge their citizens to defend their country with home made petrol bombs….. Fair enough….but then it would be wrong to act in horror when Ukrainian citizens are killed during conflict.
Did I get it right..Russia are saying there will be serious repercussions if Sweden or Finland join NATO. Is this not a serious escalation in the threat situation.
Both countries have had problems with Russia for years. There was a Russian sub that ran aground in Sweden years ago. If they attacked either the west would fight.
I was listening to a ‘Putin expert’ on CNN who said he wants to cause havoc and destabilise Europe. She said he couldn’t have Ukraine living a free Western lifestyle as the Russian people would see this and ask why their lives are so cr#p? She added that he is using his nuclear power as a bully to threaten countries. This invasion marks the beginning of the end for him.
I would like to think that this invasion marks the beginning of the end but he is a populist and does have support at home. I would like to think Hammersmith's proposal that the SAS take him out (or some other agency from some county or other) would work, but unfortunately, I don't think it would.
