A friend of Jeffrey Epstein, in prison for raping minors, was found dead in his prison cell, in France. Not confirmed, but claims are that he, like Epstein, hanged himself. Someone cleaning up or coincidence? Ghislaine Maxwell must be ****ting herself. https://www.geo.tv/latest/400322-jeffrey-epstein-ally-jean-luc-brunel-found-dead-in-french-prison
This an interesting story about octopuses found on New Quay beach, Ceredigion but the wildlife guide is such an enthusiast he keeps a killer whale on his head. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-60516908
I have seen a video, today, that gives me hope for returning permanently to live in Spain. Since Brexit made us a Third Country, a UK citizen can apply for a Non Lucrative Visa, but you need to show that you have a minimum of €27000 available to cover your first year’s living costs. Effectively it’s 4x the minimum wage so is likely to increase with annual wage rises. After year 1, you reapply for a 2 year visa and, until today, the belief has been that you need to show that you have €27000 for each year - €54000 in total - before you will be able to get the visa. One autonomous region, Almeria, in consultation with the head of their Foreign Office, has agreed that €27000 is adequate for for each year, which makes it easier for people to achieve. Many people, myself included, can make the first year but couldn’t double up for years 2&3, so this could be game changer. Still have to be cautious because each autonomous region could interpret the rules differently (my house is in Valenciana region), however with Almeria setting a precedent it opens up the route for other regions to follow and allows applicants to appeal if their follow up visa applications are denied. I would have to pay for private medical insurance, initially, but I believe that is just for year one, before being able to access the Spanish health system. More research needed on this point.
That's good there's a way forward. A brexit with freedom of movement and free trade access would have been better, no brexit at all best. But no it's off the ****ing cliff leaving many with residential problems, the customs chaos, fishing in a mess and staffing shortages. What sort of a triumph is that?
I will be in Spain for 7 weeks, from early April, so will star investing more closely. Fingers are crossed that it will work in my favour.
I'm retired but those going back to work in the office may find this of use. https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news...Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1645793972
"Excuse me" I said to the woman sat in front of me on the bus. "You have some semen on the back of your jacket." I'm sure it's not semen," she said, "It's probably yogurt." I replied her "It's definitely semen, I don't ejaculate yogurt."
