The question has to be how long is Acun willing to let this go on? At the end of the day it’s his train set and his money at risk. Personally I think the only way things will change will be a new face, and voice, in the changing room, someone that will get their message across in no uncertain terms. I’m pretty certain that Ashbee would work the oracle, and there’d be no prisoners taken, but I’m guessing the chances of that are slim to zero, similarly with Colin, he’d absolutely sort the ****ers out but it’s never gonna happen.
You could just as equally say selling the club to foreign owners who don't know the Championship or this country even, in mid season was also madness. But we all clamoured for it and it's what we now have. The choice of manager was decided upon months before the sale finally took place and probably at a time when we looked like relegation favourites, remember only two wins out of the first 16 games this season ? They haven't even settled into places to live yet never mind had time to sort the club out. So before we all start panicking I think we should remember that. Last night was shocking mainly because who we were playing and the fact we'd drawn a decent crowd so expectations were high. Only seven days previously we put in a battling performance at Bramall Lane to earn a very good point. Not much wrong with the performance that night, or the manager. The QPR display was also decent and another very good away point against a team fourth in the division. I'd put last night down to the fact we'd just played two away games in a week and both were full blooded affairs, and we did well in them, Last night on a heavy pitch, with a patched up team because of injuries we looked laboured against a fresh looking Barnsley team who fancied their chances for exactly those reasons. It's football. They out played us in every department and looked a lot fresher then we did all over the pitch.
Last Night was awful...but there is more to life. My God, have mercy on me for my thoughts but she is beautiful.
Andy Dawson ? Already at the club, the players know him & he has vast experience of Championship football. He should have been promoted by Acun to be Shota's assistant His CV-: The erstwhile left-back was instrumental in the Tigers' rise from League Two to the Premier League, making over 300 appearances in 10 years at the KCOM Stadium. He moved to Scunthorpe United as a player-coach in 2013 and filled various roles over the next six years, including First Team Coach, Assistant Manager and Interim Manager, as well as Professional Phase Development Coach. A UEFA Pro licence holder, Andy brings a wealth of experience having worked at all levels of the game.
Tony Pennock is first team coach still. The players didn’t perform yesterday did in the last 2. Stop deeping it
He should have tracked the runner who scored. He came from the middle and Smallwood was with him until he decided to stop running and fkn point, leaving it for Fleming to think what the **** has he just done. That is what I would be thinking anyway. And as a Captain that is unforgivable.
Unless/until points are won they don't. Every team below us have played less games than us, I wouldn't swap points or games in hand with a single one of them.
The more I have thought about it, this was IMO a combination of fatigue, they have played a lot of Saturday/Tuesday games, the last 3 particularly taxing, as they put in a huge effort against the better sides, which included the Blackburn rearranged game and were no doubt feeling the effects. They thought they could handle the last game against a side at the bottom even if they were not giving a 100%. They subconsciously started at a relaxed pace, only to find they misjudged it. Once that happens and you feel a bit tired it's hard to wrestle back the advantage. I hope they have rested and go into Saturday's game with a completely different mindset.
I can't see Acun changing the manager so soon. Tuesday was abysmal but once again there's mitigating factors, mainly that all our attackers are out. We've still got a 13 point cushion and I'm sure we'll grind our way to survival. 6 points should do it, if that's 1 win and 3 draws then so be it. Wilks and Allahyar should be back next week by all accounts and hopefully Eaves will be too. That'll be a major boost. It's just about seeing the job through now but we have to be so much better next season
10 first teamers out too. Nothing against Ingram but comparing our form with and without Baxter is like night and day. There’s obviously something else he brings that Ingram doesn’t. Shota has only had him in goal for 1 game... our only win.
Baxter certainly brings confidence to those around him, plus he commands his area better than Ingram.
Just watch the video again. He wasn't coming in from out wide. He ran right down the middle with Smallwood virtually alongside him ... until Smallwood inexplicably stopped and just left him in the middle of the box at the very last moment just as the pull back came to him.
I agree! Any talk of the manager being given his marching orders at this stage is nothing more than panic... Tuesday was a reminder that he certainly has much to learn and has work to do,Saturday will no doubt present a different challenge in that our injury list is huge and we'll be up against a side managed by Grant McCann. As for next year, this team will be unrecognisable and needs to be if he (Acun Illicali) wants to push on...UTT.
We haven’t got ten first teamers out tho have we. It’s ridiculous to say so That team Tuesday night is near enough our first team
