Odds on JFH to name himself on the bench and to come on to score a late winner?

For what it’s worth I’d be tempted to go with something like this. Hume should be starting as adds some much needed pace to the back line, no idea why he was left out last game.

Matete in front of the defence for some extra cover and proper wingers who can get the ball in the box quicker. With Pritchard in a more advanced central roll to pick up scraps and provide a link between midfield and Stewart.

No idea if Gooch is fit mind. Yeah he’s the most frustrating player we have but is effective when he can get the ball and run at defenders. If he’s unfit then I’d stick Roberts there.

    Hoffmann
    Hume Wright Bathh Cirkin
    Matete
    Gooch Embleton Pritchard Clarke

I’d ideally like to play 2 up front but that seems way too unfashionable these days

Unless you're completely bypassing midfield, its a waste of a player in my opinion. I like the look of your team although I'd have Matete further forward for his energy and have someone who can drop back between the centre backs when the full backs push on.

Personally, whilst team selection and formation is important.

Its what is in the players heads and hearts that is the biggest factor... atm they seem clueless and fainthearted...

I think back to the start of the season. Stewart working hard off the ball, pulling defenders out of position. Broadheaad/Embleton/Gooch making intelligent runs between the lines and Dan Neil picking them out with slide rule passes. None of that seems to happen anymore. We are so static and they look genuinely confused in possession

I see 7 mags have put us down for a loss, what a bunch of sadsacks and not even a mention or negotiation on the thread as to why, do they think they are clever, they cant wait to run back to their brethren to wet their knickers.

I thought that player would be Matete in Daz's line up, which like yourself I liked. <ok>. I understand you would like him further forward but I would try him in front of the back 4 for now he has been outstanding on what we have seen of him so far imo.

Cant highlight this often enough for me mate, I saw most of those games that season and was on friendly terms with a lot of the team, greatest turn around in our history, but sadly we finally ended up relegated and Adamson left for Leeds United of all places, for only to end in tears for him.and his snide head coach who followed him, as soon as he was asked.

That would require a mag to be wearing knickers.
For the first time in the history of mags or knickers

Yeah, I like Matete. It might be worth trying him in that role but it doesn't look like his natural game to me. Who knows, he might be a revelation there.

Looking at this potential lineup tonight really makes you wonder how we are struggling so much.

Sorry, should have posted when voting. Very remiss of me.

I’ve voted that you will lose for the very same reasons that you did. <cheers>

You want a reason as to why I think you'll lose? It's cos you've taken one point from the last 5 games, and Burton will fancy their chances against you. I thought that was obvious.

I certainly wouldn't be adverse to giving that a try, should produce balls into the box and there's an extra player to get on the end of them. Jermain Defoe no less.

I don’t think Neil should be starting at the minute. He’s so short of confidence. Agree with the setup though. Pritchard us wasted on the wing and Evans is… We’ll… I’ve seen your post about him further down and I can’t disagree at all! Should be nowhere near the first team!!
