Was too angry yesterday to post. that was one of the worst performances last night, from start to finish and I have seen some bad ones. where are we going to get the 12 points we need for safety if it carries on like this?
12 points.?? 5 and that might be more than enough. I doubt Pboro and Barnsley will get anywhere near 40 and Reading are falling apart.
Could be an 8 nil or 8 one battering up in Hartlepool or even a 6 nil thrashing at Darlington" both many moons @go now...
Losing 5-0 at home to Chester on Boxing Day 1968 - not the Christmas present I was hoping for, nor the (early) 11th Birthday present (the next day !) ….
Swansea Town 1 Workington Town 6. In the second half the home crowd started chanting for Workington to score more goals, which they duly did. A certain Kit Napier scored a hat trick. The return fixture at Workington saw The Swans beaten 7 - 0. I didn't make the journey. Something akin to Covid, or coming to my senses, kept me at home. Kit Napier scoring 4 goals. A spot of trivia arising out of those two debacles. That entire season Workington only scored 42 goals, 13 of them against The Swans. As Mary Hopkin would put it, " Those were (not ) the days ". Equally appalling was ( non League ) Nuneaton Borough 2 Swansea Town 0. FACup tie. It should have been 12 - 0. Still kept going down the old Vetch though. " Hope springs eternal ". Apparently.
Think mine was Exeter away in 1999 , 4-0 defeat no effort at all as we we were playing West Ham later in the week and no one tackled in case they got injured. Partner laughed her head off as she was a West Ham fan. they made up for it by beating West Ham, and I laughed my head off at her! Nice revenge. mind you she also supported Villa and Burnley as they had similar tops and she could not tell the difference!
Thankfully, I wasn’t there …. Saw the goals on the Sky Sports App and also MG-W missing an open goal……
