Unusually positive, keep predicting losses for us like Lawro does cos we always do the opposite of what he says. Should (need) to win this one, Brentford on a dreadful run and we're on the opposite, a win will put more daylight between us and the drop zone and send Brentford right into the thick of the ****. I assume main change will be Maxi replacing Murphy. Joey, Willock, Fraser, Burn and Shelvs all pretty much undroppable atm. Krapp only weak link but I don't imagine Manq will be ready by Saturday.
Good grief! Even the finest torpedo tubes couldn't do that. That isn't how they work and Moscow is too far from the sea. Up your game!
I’ve decided I’m too obsessed with us having the baddest of bad luck…. other teams get bad luck and other teams see false dawns; so I’m having Burnley relegated and the Brighton result was just ‘that result’ that makes it all the more painful for their fans. So I wish their team ill fortune. **** it’s dark being a NUFC fan
Maths isn’t my friend, but if Spurs beat Burnley, Liverpool beat Leeds, Palace beat Watford (all Weds), Southampton beat Norwich (Fri), Spurs then beat Leeds (early Sat), Palace beat Burnley (Sat), Everton lose to MCity (late one on Sat) - and we go and tonk Brentford…. It’d look like this on Saturday night - 13 Crystal Palace p27 - pts 32 14 Newcastle Utd p25 - pts 25 15 Brentford p27 - pts 24 16 Leeds p26 - pts 23 17 Everton p24 - pts 22 18 Watford p25 - pts 18 19 Burnley p24 - pts 17 20 Norwich p25 - pts 17 ‘citing!
11th -17th is only 5 points difference. Arguably, the entire bottom half could be in a relegation battle, and just look at the form of most of the bottom half teams, it's awful besides ours.
Yes, win the lower-half-league is the aim. We can do that over the course of the games by the look of it, there’s a new spirit after the signings and Eddie’s fitness work. I’m optimistic if this week can play out in our favour. i’m also convinced it won’t
Yeah the form sides are ourselves, Burnley and Norwich. I don't count Norwich's last two defeats - everyone loses to Liverpool and Man C. They aren't even playing the same sport at times.
6 home games will be the key, hopefully the days when teams rocked up to SJP guaranteed 3 points are gone.
Relegation, of course, would only be a 12 month delay on our NUFC-PIF rise…. so we’d survive that pain… but it would be a glorious survival this season if we can achieve it. Trippier’s injury hit me hard on the optimism front; made it feel like we’re just cursed. But the point at WH was unexpected, so I’ve let ‘hope’ in again. Can’t wait to see the table on Sat neet
Will miss Trippier but Fed,Manq and Dummett should be plenty of cover so I'm not as downbeat as I was,if we get 10 points from next month we'll be grand.
The only one there I'd be thinking could be different would be Burnley vs Palace, everything else looks pretty nailed on. Palace look well drilled but unable to finish chances atm and Burnley are hard to break down while being able to nick a goal. So give Burnley the 3 points there and they are still in the relegation zone on 20 points (still couldn't catch us) but means Palace are catchable in the games in hand above us on 29 points! #WishfulThinking
I’m starting to ‘want’ Burnley to go down - usually I’m nice and vague and just want it ‘not to be Newcastle’ - I’m changing
In that case Villa, Everton and Leeds all day long Pretty sure Villa have a huge points deduction to look forward to next time they hit the championship too
Chaos you ****. It’s winner stays on and we have been unbeaten with my supremely informative match threads if we don’t get at least a point you can suck balls. It’s on YOU. X
Are we confident that we can win if we have ASM back? ASM is probably are most important player IMO. If we had him against WHU we'd have won. I found it amusing that Fraser and Murphy would often play on the same side to make up for the lack of ASM.
