Kenedy (on loan from Chelsea) once had a game for NUFC where he didn’t touch the ball once in the first half. I can’t remember who it was against.
I think with Lukaku it was just a nonsensical piece of transfer business. Same as Ronaldo at Man U. His time in Italy was outstanding. His numbers were incredible in a side set up around feeding him. As we saw at Man U in his last season, when you don't do that, he isn't a striker who is massively mobile running around making things happen. Tuchel plays a very modern mobile style of football. Everyone has to press, everyone has to move and be interchangeable. When they signed Lukaku I couldn't see how it was going to work, but I assumed they were so good they had a plan. I'm not convinced they do. Kane was a bit like that for many seasons and why I wasn't convinced about him at Man C. But he has added to his game massively. Fair play to him he is able to partake in build up play now, set up goals and of course he can score outside the box. I actually think Chelsea would have been better looking at someone like Calvert Lewin or Isak. I think that would have complemented their wide forwards/attacking midfielders better.
I'll be happy when we get to point when our goalkeeper doesn't have a single touch of the ball all game.
I remember Shola spent lots of games lolloping around in slow motion like he was high on weed. Shelvey used to lazily drift in and out games, but Howe has him more focused these days. As for LOLkaku, I saw that on MOTD as well, but hey they won, so guess it doesn't matter does it?
To be fair, Darlow's had a few of them when the defenders have fished the ball out the net or the striker has grabbed it and ran it back to the halfway line
