Quite keen on THE RUSSIAN DOYEN today at 5's (Newbury 3:40) although I am uncertain about his campaign this season. He looked to be coming nicely to hand when second here earlier in the season but then they tried and failed to take advantage of his lower hurdles perch. He is better chaser than hurdler and he can win this off his current mark.

Newbury 15,40 It will be hard to see any of the four market leaders not winning this race but given how evenly matched they are I'm going to go for an outsider. Doukarov 14/1 e/w bet 365 three places, 12/1 sky four places Won here in December with a mark of 113, today he runs at 119 but the jockey takes off 7lb. Stable on fire, 2-8 last 14 days and a place 200/1 here eight days ago with the same jockey. For all that said very small bet.
