Agree about rio but can you call him overhyped if he's done it for so many years but his career is on the slide now...i don't think you can

it's a bit like saying giggs is overhyped just taking into account how he's played this season and disregarding the what is it 20 yrs? of him being top drawer

Rio was world class, but pundits still call him world class, which he most certainly is not.

Must admit I've watched Rio loads of times in the last year or so and although clearly deteriotrating because of the knocks, he rarely has a bad game. Mind his games are very sporadic over the last year. Hard to judge I suppose because he's probably only made about 50 apps in the last two years over all competitions. I know I watched him at Stoke recently and he was class.

for me, the most overrated player of all time is ibrahimovic.
    bale is also mega overrated.

on a side note, i got a free packet of match attax football cards, in the pack was tiote and steve bruce.
i now keep them in my wallet with brucie having to stare into tiote's face all day, all night.
    Viva la fiesta

Assuming you're referring to Petr and not Marek, are you serious?!? Cech is by far one of the best keepers in the world he did go off the boil a bit a year or so ago but he is most definitely a quality keeper

it's like woodgate no one would say he was over hyped in fact most people say he's world class but how many games has the lad played, undoubtedly he's a class act when fit but couldn't you say he was over hyped just for the fact of the amount of games he's played and the tag of world class????

Wash your mouth out! Perchino is clearly one of the most underrated players in the league. He wouldn't have looked out of place in the great brazilian teams of the 60's and 70's such is his natural talent. Here's a recent quote from Lionel Messi on the subject:

Reporter: Leo, which player do you fear most in world football? By fear I mean in terms of talent, obviously we know everyone fears Cheik Tiote the most.

Messi: James 'Perchino' Perch. Honestly can't understand how he just glides along under the radar. He's like Beckenbauer moulded with a Baresi, a dash of Rivelino and serious helping of Platini. I've tried to get Josep on the case but they're being quoted silly figures by Newcastle.

All of the above is factual and actual quotes..................

One man. Michael Owen. He was good but the way pundits talk about him no is hilarious! He scored 2 goals against Leeds in the CC and they were asking the question of whether he should be put back into the England squad! The fact that Ferguson only plays him in the CC matches against lower league teams says it all.

He is still easily good enough for the Premier League though. His record is something like 12 goals in his last 11 Man United starts. He can only score against what's in front of him.
