That would be about my guess too. It's more or less a top notch U23 team with a few add ons. The 46 game season was just bound to be too long, and the dip is now a slump. I'd now worry about the long term damage in keeping playing lads who are clearly drained. But the shambolic recruitment leaves the manager no choice. It didn't leave the last one much either
It's mathematically possible ,so have to hope we can get out of this league. If we do I just hope it's because a great run starts now, we deservedly win playoffs and there's money to spend for next year. I'm not seeing much point of scraping 6th and being lucky in playoffs -especially if still insufficient spending in summer resulting in nothing more than more relegation heartache next year.
Unfortunately all my hope has gone from this squad, I always thought we would go up automatically even after a few of our downs earlier in the season but these last matches have done it for me. Not a cat in hells chance is what I’m thinking and we could even finish bottom half
Hope remains. In form you cant see it. With our squad you cant see it. There look to be too many teams better than us right now. MK Dons, Oxford, Sheff Wed, Ispwich, Bolton all in my opinion have put together more effective sides and are coming good at the business end of the season. However, if we can get ONien and Broadhead back in the side for the last 10 games we would start to look different I think. If McGeady were to be an option from the bench. If somehow Roberts can get match fit. I cling to those things and I still believe we can make the playoffs. Imagine going in off tbe back of an unbeaten run. We might suddenly be that team again from the first half of the season. It is possible. Hey, who knows, maybe Defoe is fit enough by Wembley to come off the bench for 20 minutes and grab the winner.
Yeah think we will find form later on, sneak into the play offs and then win at Wembley Cap doffed to you by the way its bloody hard work being consistently negative. I couldn't do it there's always a silver lining. I just haven't found it quite yet
Donald had assembled a 10th placed division 3 team with all his cost cutting. Since then we've added u23s who really should only play a dozen games then rested for 4. We have no leaders on the park, yesterday the senior pros were Wright, Winchester, Evans and Pritchard. Crap. Nee chance. Need to rebuild in the summer. Hhhaaawwwaaaayyyyyy the lads, prove me wrong
No, if youd have asked me that question after the Sheff Wed match id have said its a certainty. Our demise started in January where obvious weaknesses were exposed, we had a full month to do something about it and Speakman and co totally fecked it up. You cant expect to borrow/loan and sign freebies and expect promotion with a so called Billionaire owner .
Aye. The revolutionary tactic of putting a simple ball through or over a slow defence . Who'd ever have thought it?
It’s not over till it’s over. I would think the teams trying to get in the playoffs would not want us in the mix because like us they will never know what sort of team will turn up.
Getting injred players back and match fit ASAP is a must, and as bad as we have been we are capable of bouncing and going on a run amd timing it right for momentum into the playoffs coupd be huge but no one in their right mind can say that is likely. We look dead on our feet, devoid of ideas and even with players coming back we will still be short in midfield. My one little Ray of hope is seeing Broadhead and Onien back and both hit form. Onien could be crucial alongside Matete or anywhere across the back line and as for Broadhead he needs to take the pressure off Stewart who's legs are spent
