Another great result from the lads. If we keep this up we should make the play offs. Funnily enough at the start of the season when we were near the bottom of the table JB was confident that we would get promotion. Everyone thought he was mental but his words have a slight ring to them now even though it won't be easy but it looks far more achievable now than it did then.
I think automatic promotion is possible, because some of the sides above us will be playing each other quite a bit and a few of those will start to drop away. Our final game looks a lot better than our rivals, too so if comes down to the last game of the season it should be a good 'un.
9th position 3 points off the playoffs, really couldn't see this at the beginning of the season. When Harries isn't picked our defence seems stronger and more solid. If any of you have Sky if you go on football results for yesterday you can watch 1. 57 minutes of highlights
If you register for iFollow (free) on www.bristolrovers.co.uk you can watch 7 mins of extended highlights the day after each game. Our attacking football has been a joy to watch over the past three matches - Nicholson doesn't score many but he's playing really well and is a vital cog in our attacking machine. Evans (the "Filton Ave Figo"!) is a class above - I hope we extend his contract beyond the end of the season because his ability and performances must be turning heads further up the league pyramid, Collins is excellent and getting better as a versatile striker all the time. Elliot Anderson was a great bit of recruitment - always looking to attack and turn his man and has a footballing intelligence which belies his 19 years. Finley and Coutts work well together screening the defence and launching attacks and our two centre backs are both only 20 but play really well together. With fine, consistent full backs in Hoole/Anderton/H Anderson and an excellent keeper in Belshaw we have suddenly become a genuinely great side to watch. I simply would not have believed that we would be chasing the playoffs in Feb if you'd asked me back in Nov but it's testament to the manager and the squad that they've turned it around. UTG!
If we cannot sign them permanently I would like to see Taylor and Connolly back next season on loan. Everything I read about spells class and they appear to be improving with every game Elliott Anderson also seems to be a class act and with the game time these players are getting I think that their parent clubs would be happy for their players, those named or others to be considered in a positive light for future loans, as I doubt that we could afford the transfer fees or their wages on league 2 / 1 fair play qualifications
