Just to clarify. The club has no plans to move supporters and it has not been discussed with supporter groups.
Do we have to move fans at all? The City fans in E1-E3 are great for the atmosphere. We could do with that in N4-N7 as well. We only have to allocate 2,000 tickets to away fans. I’ve no idea why we gave the Blunts 4,000 tickets to fill the entire North Stand.
For as long as I've been going, with the exception of the few season where the North stand move happened, the most vocal City fans have been in the East Stand, from Kempton to the area of the current ground. Yes it's unusual and different to other clubs but I don't see why it needs to be changed.
-> "one question related to where the away fans should be located - seems like 10 have responded so far of which 90% would prefer to move back to the North Stand" Yep, that's the worry. Early voters saying to split City support with away fans located in east part of North Stand. It was also only showing the same 10 votes when I completed mine. Seems a bit odd. -> I can only say that there are no plans to move supporters. There might well be no plans at this moment in time, but as I understand it, the club HAVE asked fans groups for ideas about how to improve attendances and match days. Hence this survey as one example. Location of supporters is bound to feature in the feedback, and I'm certain they (the club) will be considering it.
10% of the stadium capacity is 2,500, which would extend from the NW corner to just beyond the North Stand goal - N1 to N4 and possibly some of N5 as well, then City fans from N6 onwards. Don’t forget it’s not just a matter of configuring the seats that way, the toilets, concessions and turnstiles would also need to be configured for that layout too. And the safe evacuation routes would all need to add up too. I think this is why splitting the North Stand is not as easy as it might appear, it’s all doable but it might have a negative impact on capacity due to the Green Book requirements.
Yep, that's why the NW corner plan would need to take in part of the northern end of the West Stand. As you say, some reconfiguring would be needed, but I fail to see that it would be major and why it couldn't be done.
Leeds have the right idea. Vocal HOME support behind both goals. Away team scores and you can hear em but don’t see the celebrations. Newcastle don’t give away fans a look in up in the clouds. It’s an image thing in favour of home supporters. Just saying…
i didn't vote 8 strongly agree 1 agree and 1 disagree to the moving back to the North Stand unless I have 10 persona and haven't a clue what I'm doing - don't answer that
But you do see a load of TWS behind the goal with glum faces and throwing the odd ****er sign at the celebrating away players. Always an enjoyable sight
Honestly you want a noise from the away support cos it spurs our own on sometimes. If city can't drown out the north stand on 3 sides then wherever you put them is shuffling deckchairs. We'll still have **** support.
Don’t think that’s doable. The entry to the north end of the West Stand and it’s concourses are all separate from the North Stand, there’s a tunnel for vehicles between the two stands. So you would need two entirely separate away ends, separated from home fans and separately policed/stewarded. Can’t think of a ground in the land that would put up with that much faff. Or maybe the concourse behind the seats extends above the vehicle tunnel. It’s an area of the ground I’ve never been in.
when did they start separatng home and away supporters I know they do but wondered when. When I was living in the area there was no sepration. Not sure why you need it now. Especiallly as everyone is seated.
If the club want as many away fans as possible then you’re right…but do they? Maybe not It’s an important part though, and for me if they do then leave it as it is, but the Barnsley seating suggests they don’t
Vast majority ‘behave’ so why punish everyone? Our support is not a troublesome one Those that don’t ‘behave’ get thrown out anyway We should be pushing for safe standing ASAP
I agree totally. More of our support should self police like that twat chucked the bottle against Fulham. Don't ****ing blame the bbc for backing an SMC campaign today. All day including burnsy whilst drawing in the national context and the fact that a Warrington coach got bricked the other day in RL also. **** me. The owners (via Woodford and the SMC) launch a campaign on breakfast radio, continue with woodfords backing on Burnsy show, and making it the lead story on drive.... Yet some of you think it's **** stirring against the club when Burnsy show brought The cods and RL into it too. Humberside absolutely complied with the club in their agenda today, when some of you just want to excuse ferral bahaviour and pass the buck in favour of slagging the bbc for your own agendas Be it on your own heads.
