Totally dominated play, couldn't score. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Until we get James and Chilwell back, and/or, a player who can dominate the goal area, Audi has to do better with his formations, cause this doesn't work without speed and flair on the flanks. Maybe he thought this selection would easily win and is holding the "A " team for the final ?? Anyway, we are in it, so fingers crossed. Broja scored again, worth a look??
Ziyech has been superb lately. I don’t know why we don’t just go with a Ziyech, Havertz and Pulisic front 3. Play Havertz in the Firmino/Jesus type role.
Agree about Ziyech, he has hit his straps at last, and Havertz is also looking extra good. Pulisic I'm not crazy about, but will concede when he's good he's very good, just rarely happens. I'm also a fan of Werner, not the striker Werner, the left wide player Werner who gets in behind. Wherever you look there are players who should be scoring more. Tweak the formation to suit them??
We've been doing that for two months playing 4 2 2 2 Last night was the first time we played 343 in ages We won't be at our free flowing best until Chilwell and James are back Until then we'll grind out some 1 nil wins and have to suffer playing two Cup finals, last 16 CL and FA cup and we're only third in the league. Oh, hold on, life isn't so bad!!!
There are other formations apart from 4 2 2 2. My point being 343 we all know we struggle for pace and goals with our injuries, and 4 2 2 2 we also struggle for goals, but keep a few more out. Tweak it a bit, not drastically change everything. Right now with the players we have, maybe we could be doing better with our scoring.
Another nail biter with dominance but few goals. Can't fault anyone in this game every player gave his all. Not all played at their top, but that seems how we are at the moment. Palmerias were super defensive all game and a bit too aggressive towards the end losing a player to a red , and a penalty that saw us rightfully score the winner. What a great trophy for the Club at last, the one that has got away until now. Brilliant for Dave and RA especially, who have waited a long time for this.
Does anyone actually rate that comp? I mean, its nice to say we are World Champs I guess, but I forgot the match was even playing until it was 20 minutes in. lol
I think the players rate it, certainly not as big as the CL , but World Club Champions has a nice ring to it, especially when you have got pretty much all the others already in the cabinet. Keeps the Trophy polishers on their toes !!
