I would say so, there seems a rising number of incidents where projectiles are being thrown at players. Cocaine use at grounds seems on the rise, and the issue at Sheff Utd with the torn up seats doesn't help either.
I'm not sure whether its a rise or just a media trend reporting it without seeing the data. I agree there has been more cocaine use that I've noticed but although it might encourage risky behaviour I didn't consider that to be hooliganism in its own right tbh
According to Burnys there is. Encouraging all the nut job callers. ' I remember when all the pubs were closed on a match day, now they serve beer in the grounds....' FFS. He's making it sound more dangerous then the situation in the Ukraine.
I dunno, it's certainly been more noticeable while watching games (so not as a highlight from the media), I see it almost every game now in both PL games I watch and City games. I'd call illicit drug use at grounds pretty bad behaviour that should be stamped out. Particularly a drug like cocaine (as opposed to pot) that will lead to more aggressive behaviour.
Don't know how many times i have said this.....but burns is an utter tool and very anti hull.....wish he would go somewhere else the knob
Not saying it is as you probably watch more football on tv than me, but I wonder if it partly feels like that after seasons of playing with no fans in the ground I’m not condoning taking coke (although I’ve never taken it so probably don’t understand the impact) I’m just saying that’s it’s quite a stretch to call drug taking hooliganism that’s all
Have you got even a scrap of evidence to suggest he's 'anti-Hull'? I've only ever seen him being positive about the City and Hull City. Offering an opinion that the football club is badly run, or that in his opinion we're heading for relegation is just journalism, not being anti-Hull.
I can't remember watching.. I dunno.. the 14/15 season in the PL, and seeing anything near this amount of projectiles being thrown. I do remember Walcott at the Emirates giving Spurs fans the 2-0 symbol as he was taken off on a stretcher and getting coins pelted at him, and Adebayor running the length of the pitch and having projectiles thrown at him when he scored against Arsenal for City, but those were isolated incidents. It now feels like almost every game.
His journalism last season had us going straight down from League 1. We actually won the league. It wouldn't hurt to occasionally talk up the club, and on this occasion join the club's campaign to get the crowds back. I don't think a well advertised programme on local radio about 'the rise in football hooliganism' helps at all, not whilst the club are actively selling £2 tickets for a forth coming match. When did he last stand in an away end for example ? That would be proper journalism. He hasn't read my text out, by the way. I wonder why ?
Yes I agree it was "wild supposition". I agreed it was in my last post too. I don't do any research before I post on here it's just a stream of random consciousness.
I wonder if the East Stand rep will be asking once the mirrors are sorted that the sinks and toilets be kept clean for anyone wishing to snort a line of coke?
I brought this up the other day and in my opinion there is a rise.I have no link or evidence just what I see with my eyes.
The phone in on' the rise in disorder at football games' has turned into news now and is featured on the main news bulletins. Which will do wonders for anyone considering buying a ticket for City during next weeks half term.school holiday.
