I remember him having a really successful season for Wolves in their promotion season and a pretty average loan period at Boro a couple of years ago. Other than that i knew little of him. Physically and experience wise when he signed i was buzzing. Im not so sure now? This is an interesting read... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/h...n-pundit-gives-frank-view-on-january-signing/
Looked like he was exactly what we needed, but been pretty poor so far tbh. Early days though, hopefully he gets better.
I've seen him have an excellent game so I know he's capable, after that we've been **** as a team and I don't like to judge individuals when that's happening. It takes a truly exceptional player to have a blinder when everyone else is crap and we're not likely to get any of them while we're in league one.
Might need a few more games to settle in, if he and Bailey Wright can play together it would solve one of our main problems as we are painfully short of defenders, Younger, Hume and Flanagan shown the door without adequate cover was puzzling. We don't know what happened on that transfer deadline day ( I dislike the whole idea of transfer windows tbh ) , and probably never will, but something did not go to plan obviously.
Pretty pointless talking about 1 good debut performance. We need players that play well every single game, not hit and miss players. We already have that in Gooch. We need a leader at the back and so far i can't see how Batth is an improvement in Flannagan or Wright.
Let's not write him off too soon. I remember another central defender who made his debut in a Sunderland team that conceded 13 goals without reply in his first two games but thankfully he soon found his form and he went on to be named the Player of the Century. I'm referring of course to Big Charlie Hurley. The recent upheavals and overall loss of form won't have helped anyone, so let's not be too keen to criticise and look again when the new manager/ coach has had a chance to implement his methods.
It’s funny how a player who struggles in his first few seems to get written off by some. He looked really solid on his debut but he (along with everyone else) struggled since. Stoke fans rated him I. The championship yet some of ours have written him off! I’ll give him a bit more time before I judge
I love hearing Legends names being compared but unfortunately we're looking at another season in League 1 unless he steps up in 3 months
