our defensive movement at corners is significantly better that under McCann when the main tactic was to wrestle the opposition which was ridiculous - we're already seeing vast improvements - I enjoyed last night even though the last 15 minutes was a bit nervy even though we deserved to hold on to a well earned point and a clean sheet
Oh aye, being down to 10 men for 10 minutes or so because of their player elbowing one of ours in the head was all part of our game plan.
Re your midfield comment JEX... we looked so much better when Jones came on. He's agile and has a presence about him. Id have him in front of all those you mentioned...
Nice sarcasm! I agree. He loves the area, promotes it, really cares about our club and wants us to do well. Anyone saying otherwise is talking out of their backside. He does though need to cut down occasionally on the non-football talk during the game - not eliminate it, but cut it down.
It’s nice to see an influence on it rather than being told Cliff Byrne works on it everyday without seeing results.
Agree with a lot of that ..... but it overlooks the facts that he was also tactically naive and was too weak to stand up to Ehab & Darnborough, which contributed massively to our relegation and then to a poor start this season. Our defending of set pieces was literally an utter joke at times too. Given free reign (with playing 'philosophy') and given decent investment to play with, provided he's learnt a lot (which I expect he has), he'll likely prove to be a decent manager for some club. Good luck to him, but I'm happy that he and Byrne have been replaced.
It was nice to see that we are also finally becoming much more street wise and with a bit more edge about us. The new coaching regime or just the boys growing up quickly? Or both?
Celebrating a loss and then a draw like it’s a massive result God knows what it will be like on here if we actually win a game
Shota’ only been here 5 mins mate. Very important point last night… Much appreciated in the away end. Allam’s GONE.
Just recognising a very good team effort, celebrating a very good, potentially valuable away point, and arguably but imo a much improved tactical approach. Perspective (and it was even more stark v's Fulham) ...
Don’t think anyone’s made out it’s a massive result, just a good point. You just like being the outsider don’t you.
I’m very much on the inside with a direct line into the club while you’ve been on here a few weeks and know **** all changing opinions constantly
What is my changing opinion exactly, have thought you’re a pretentious ****er from my first day on here Edit - I have 2 direct lines into the club so have that
This also is roughly what you have to spend to be relegated from the promised land. Everybody still in a rush to regain our place in the land of monopoly money?
