I can take the beatings at the likes of Bolton but what I can’t take is the bullshit from the boardroom. Absolute disgrace at the moment and such an insult to the integrity of the fans.
I'll always be a Sunderland fan, till the day I die.....BUT....this club make it very hard sometimes, these past 6 years have tested my faith and passion, But I cling to the thought that long after chancers such as Donald and Methven will be gone the true fans will remain.
History shows that bad results like Bolton often occur because the club is rotten from the top down and low and behold we’ve got the most tragic of results (worse result in our history at this level by a team that’s just reformed!) because we have probably the most toxic boardroom since 58 or 85.
As far as our future prospects are concerned,I'm not too worried to be honest. KLD must have intentions to invest and have agreement in place to allow him to do so. Otherwise,there would be no point in taking a 41% holding in a private company and just sitting on it.....he's far too intelligent and well advised for that. The real problem here is the lack of transparency,the apparent contradictions and their seemingly complete misunderstanding of the mood of a significant number of our fanbase when it comes to Donald and Methven. Why the club have not known this and dealt with it differently is beyond me.....it's a massive pr error..... and they now have to present something credible,and fast, to bring some acceptance. If not,the atmosphere on Saturday could turn very ugly,particularly if things don't go well on the pitch. I think the truth,the whole truth and nothing but the truth would be a good place to start.
Very well put. I think it’s definitely worth considering what we are angry about though. I’m pissed off that that they allegedly gave KLD controlling votes but then misled us about the actual percentage of shares. They knew that we all assumed KLds percentage would be over 50 Percent but they put an NDA in place to hide this as they knew knowing the full percentage breakdown would antagonise the fan base. They didn’t lie per say but the difference in misled/lie probably won’t make a lot of differences to how we feel as fans. Today is pivotal in getting fans back on side though as the rot of dissension is well on the way. for me I’d be happy with 1. An explanation of why they put the NDA in place (I’m expecting something like “the current owners would not relinquish the club unless this was in place and furthermore would not reduce their share lower than they already had) 2. A plan to further dilute CM and DS’s shares 3. clarification on JS’s actual objectives with the club, is he for Madrox or is he more aligned with the club / KLD And finally more than pissed off I'm disappointed as I’ve backed this club in the face of people saying it wasn’t a take over.
Hopefully someone will take SD up on his offer and buy the shares Oh for a silver lining in all of this
Changed my mind re protest. How about a mass walkout on 41 mins? Not necessarily out the stadium, but retreat to the concourse until the 2nd half has kicked off. Make sure the impact is visual
Not really damage control. It's to stop people going absolutely wild making claims that Donald is making decisions and taking KLD for a fool. KLD is running the club and has nearly a shut out on the board with him being the key player for all decisions. The issue is that Donald and Methven still value their stakes at too higher value. So why they claim they will want to sell, they have set a high price and it's tough even for a wealthy man to buy when the business sense is not too. Not yet anyway.
For me section 3 is the important part. Is JS representing himself when he attends Board Meetings or does he represent Madrox as a whole. If it's the latter then it gives Madrox more sway I would imagine, but if he is only representing himself then KLD will be fully in control I think?
I'm guessing is that this is the reason why the new investor hasn't come on board yet. The timing of events all fit together. 12 month NDA Fans meeting scheduled day after NDA expires KLD's statement to the athletic SD and CM's statement that they are happy to sell. SD (and to a lesser extent CM) did not want to sell everything initially hoping as we all expected for a bigger payday. KLD (and his advisors) have fired the first shot across the bows as soon as they were legally able to.
I would guess himself. In the long run it would do him more harm to piss of KLD's family that Donanld or Methven. KLD's family operate in a much higher sphere of influence
As said above i would guess with KLD. If you were a billionaire who would you rather piss off. KLD's family or a chancer from Oxford?
