Well done lads. We couldn't have been too bad to get a result like that. Unfortunately I was otherwise engaged and missed all the match. Logged in just as it went off the air. Will have to wait for Rocky's report. Good luck Saturday.
Just got back to my home in Wycombe, wasn't the best performance did what we needed to get the win nothing more really, excellent overhead kick by Yann in the first half to create the first goal. Matt Taylor saved us a few times too. Fans were quality would say there were about 1400 roughly maybe more, but still made brilliant noise and delited with the win and with results going our way too COYR
looked like about 1500 charlton fans from where i was standing and they were noisy most of the game, well done to charlton on their win and best of luck for the rest of the season.bwp was a class act and his second goal was a superb finish from the corner of the penalty area.overall i think charlton were worthy of their win but we did have them on the backfoot late on .charlton were the better side in the first half and at half time i feared a drubbing but thankfully from wycombes point of view we came out second half a much better side.
just got home from the game I think we deserved the 3 points though Wycombe did put us under the cosh in the 2nd half without being too threatening, not the greatest of performances over 90 mins but then away from home its all about results
Got home about 10 minutes ago - a game of two halves and no mistake. First 45 minutes was just lovely to watch, ball on the floor, calm and patient play and the slide rule pass for the second goal...oh, just perfect. Second 45 minutes showed a worrying trend - as soon as we're under pressure, the ball goes into the ionosphere. Why do we do this? We lose shape, we lose forward momentum, we cease to be an attacking force. And once again, the substitutes came too late to make a difference. Lovely ground (my first visit), beautiful pitch and very friendly staff and stewards. Addicks support loud and committed - maybe 1200 there. Three points, top of the league and I was sitting next to a really pretty redhead - the perfect way to spend an evening.
A pretty redhead you say...so all our female fans aren't like charlton totty from the lower north? I'm shocked!
Got back in from the game at around midnight, thought the Charlton support was top notch, struggling to hear ourselves talk on the headphones with all the noise being generated, impressive first half, thought we were clinical, and held on to grab the vital 3 points, when other teams were dropping points we got all 3, good signs. Rhoys Wiggins is really starting to impress me, a quiet start to his Charlton career, but in the last few weeks he has been top notch, I was less than convinced by Andy Hughes in JPT and Carling games, but the he was really good tonight providing cover allowing our midfield and full backs to get forward. Hartlepool Saturday for me, cannot wait, I fancy us for a further 3 points.
glad you enjoyed your night in wycombe tewkes shame we didnt play for the first 45 minutes, charlton kept the ball well and played some nice football in the first half on the deck,as you say second half a bit of hoofball when under pressure but you deserved the points.we missed our playmaker donelly in midfield and didnt really create enough when we had the ball.bwp if only wycombe strikers could learn from his movement and clinical finishing we wouldnt be where we are in the league.good luck for the rest of the season i just hope we can take points off sheff weds on saturday but if we play like we did in the first half i cant see it .
Was a really got match but I felt we tried lumping it forward too many times like we did @ Stevenage rather than passing it around. On the whole though felt it was a lovely performance, thanks to the rest of the league for helping us out (apart from Scunthorpe who need to practise their pens in training more) Felt Wycombe were more than a handful throughout the match, think they're just missing someone who can put the ball in the net at the end of their good plays Ever Onwards as Michael Slater said the other day - See you in Hartlepool
[QUOTE=Addick4Life;15620 Felt Wycombe were more than a handful throughout the match, think they're just missing someone who can put the ball in the net at the end of their good plays . we have suffered in the striker department for years its a pity we keep signing forwards who cant hit a barn door from 3 feet
Your a very good sport Rocky blue army, if most wycombe fans are anything like you their a good bunch. At what age did you start following Wycombe ? Does your father follow the same path ?
You need to sell Jordan Ibe quick, if he stays into next season you could lose him for pennies under the new rules
Well played last night. We gave you a decent game in the 2nd half and could've snatched a point, but you were good value for the win. The noise from the away end was excellent, there's been 2500 in there before making less noise than that. Maybe it was that drum helping things along! Good luck with the rest of the season, looking forward to a trip to your place later in the season.
Good luck for the season ,I see a 15 year old came on for you lets hope he`s allowed to develope with you and not snatched by a bigger club for next to nothing
