Day Eleven - A free man.

Eventually returned a negative LFD test today anyway.

    So returned to work.

    Observations:

    I feel knackered.

I had a headache, a cough and a generally feeling of being a bit off-colour for four or five days.

If I had been allowed to, I'd have gone into work every day. I've felt a lot worse with the ubiquitous 'non-specific virus' of old.

By lunchtime today I was struggling a bit but picked up this afternoon when I had to focus on some crisis stuff.

    Oh...

And thank **** I'm triple jabbed.

Que doss to the good people of Pfizer and Moderna.

    Good to see you back

I’m still testing positive but feel fine now (swift 72 hour triple jabbed recovery syndrome)

Not sure whether I’ve had ‘non specific virus’ for a few days while coincidentally having Covid actually, because Mrs Tash has had the same symptoms but no Covid (I’ve stayed in the East Wing since I first tested positive…because I’m kind of a selfless hero)

I’ve literally spent 4 days in either the bar or the bedroom.

When I get clear …I might pretend I have it again

Up to a third of people who tested positive for coronavirus by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests were not contagious and did not need to self-isolate, a new study suggests.

Research led by academics from the University of Oxford found that many laboratories are setting the positivity bar very low, meaning they are picking up people who are “a danger to no one”.

PCR tests work by cycling swab samples through different temperatures to trigger replication, which releases a chemical showing that the virus is present.

The fewer cycles that are needed to detect the chemical, the greater the viral load and the more likely someone is infected.

There is no definitive cycle threshold level for positivity. However, a review by the University of Oxford found that 30 was a good cut-off, because the virus was unlikely to replicate after that - particularly in asymptomatic people. Other groups have suggested around 32 to 33.

However, Freedom of Information requests made by members of the public and compiled by the University of Oxford show that NHS trusts are using vastly different cut-off thresholds, with little regulation from the Government. Some are as low as 25, while others are as high as 45.

The figures also show that between 23 and 37 per cent of people who were told they were positive had a cycle threshold value above 30. For one in 20, it was higher than 40.

USA death rates from Covid by vaccination status from CDC data:
    Unvaccinated: 97 deaths per million.
Triple vaccinated: 1 death per million.
Hard to know if being vaccinated is a good idea.

Some would argue 97 deaths per million are good odds.

Some would argue not dying is better than dying.

Just been reading the Djokovic interview about his vaccination stance. Gone down even further in my estimation now. He claims enough isn't known about the vaccine (which one or what he wants to know he doesn't say) for him to want to put it into his body (my body's a temple and all that). Then he has the gall to claim that 'we' are all looking for a way out of the covid situation. Well, matey, you're doing sfa to help find a solution, you're just letting everybody else do it for you.
If he doesn't want to have it fine, it's his choice, but don't try and come over all magnanimous just to get back onside.

Well would he want other chemicals in his body to interfere what’s already there. I think he doth protesteth too much saying he wants to control his body . He’s conveniently missed a number of lesser tournaments only to be absolutely amazing at the big ones. . Remember Andy Murray professed that he was as fit or fitter than any other player but still could not understand how ‘ some’ players could still be running at the end of match as easily as at the beginning .
Yes I know he beat Novak at Wimbledon ! It’s a bit like Bolt performing at the biggies and not much in between , and being 5 yds ahead of the test - Flo jo bless her suffered in the end
