They didnt say no say to be fair they implied they retained some power. Until they’re up front there’ll be made up stories and I’d say the lack of clarity is down to them having more than the fans would like. There’s no way round the truth with this one and there’ll be rumbles when we get it until they are drowned into insignificance. Not to say KLD isn’t running the show which I’m sure he is but it tarnishes things
I've been saying for ages, even on here that our rivalry has gone now. Just so happens they're richest club in the world meanwhile we flap about in the 3rd division. Joke of it all, the ones I work with still refuse to accept that Mike Ashley wasn't as bad as they make out, even when they're talking to a supporter of a skint club that's now in leauge one, they still won't have it. Rafa and 50 million in the Championship to get back up vrs falling out the bottom of 2 leauges back to back. Re the media team, I doubt its that. The Media are desperate for teams like Newcastle, Villa, Leeds, Everton etc to do well for some reason. I listen to talk sport and even for a club as Huge as Man United, they never have a good word to say about them. its odd.
With 24/7 media channels the need for stories along with actual news is immense. If a media team keeps putting out targeted positive stories about it's own organisation whilst also having tame people to release negative stories on rivals some of them will be picked up and gain traction. It also doesn't do any harm to have some of your own ex players or sympathisers as pundits / rent a gobs It's all about perception Crying out loud I'm off down another rabbit hole, damn all conspiracy theories
18/2/2021 Sunderland AFC today received approval from the English Football League for Kyril Louis-Dreyfus to acquire a controlling interest in the club, signalling the start of a new era on Wearside. Louis-Dreyfus also becomes the club’s new Chairman with immediate effect, with Stewart Donald, Juan Sartori and Charlie Methven each retaining a minority shareholding. https://safc.com/news/club-news/2021/february/kld-acquires-controlling-interest-in-sunderland-afc Donald, Sartori and Methven have no power to do anything KLD doesn't agree with.
Why do people think it’s ok to do that. How would they feel if someone done that to them and in front of their kids, anyone done that to me and they would get a slap
That’s not what I was saying. I was saying they do have some influence so may curtail some things. He said himself there are things they have no influence over there are things they do. Until there’s clarification people will whinge on. I’m just being factual not saying it’s right or helpful.
But again, and again it has to be said. That lot are no longer a football club, and this should never be forgotten. A football club emerges from, and is meant to represent the area it comes from. That is all they are. Despite ownership changes at numerous clubs this is still usually the case. In that sense Sunderland are "our" club and play for us. For that lot, and City and PSG, this is not the case, despite the slavering and fawning by very limited broadcasters and clickbait journalists. At these three places, the team assembled plays to represent a Muslim state, and in the case of that lot, also the honour of Bin Salman, a grotesque and bloodthirsty psychopath who has happily expressed his loathing for the West in the past, and by obvious extension, for those who cheer his name. It is a distinction worth making. They are not a club. The club as was can never be again, and exists now, along with PSG and City, as cancerous growths on football. Whatever their paid shrills pump out.
They have a minority shareholding they have no influence. There was clarification in the original SAFC statement confirming the takeover. Can some people not read and understand plain english
I was told off a mates brother that one if the reasons Short washed his hands of us was that his 15 year old son got a load of abuse off some of our fans at a game. How true it is I really don't know, but if true these examples make some of our fans toxic. We all care, its our club, but some take it too far and it tarnishes the rest of us
Probably more because he lost his Billionaire status while chucking money at us. I can believe the chew for his son aswell mind.
This is the article that needs resharing https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...n-sartori-roles-are-clarified-by-club-3482182 It even says that they utilise the involvement. The issue is some want them to have no involvement and no shares.
Honestly this is getting daft now. Even if KLD owned all the shares some people would find a weird, six degrees of separation type reason why the previous owners are still involved in the overall running of the club. It really doesn’t matter if they have shares or go to the matches. One person has the majority of shares and that same person is therefore responsible for the final decisions made at board level. Will he be taking advice from other people? Absolutely…and it would be stupid if he isn’t. Does that mean minority shareholders have any say on what KLD decides? Does it bollocks.
That article is pretty clear, I am not sure what it is that people are failing to grasp, nor do I understand the furore on RTG. It appears a handful of posters over there deliberately spread misinformation and the majority believe it despite evidence to the contrary.
On this business of the chuckle brothers still being involved in any meaningful way, the only possible issue I'm not aware of having being cleared up is the matter of reciprocal investing. If KLD puts in say, £1m into the club, whether it be the pitch, academy or first team, and the other shareholders have to commit a percentage, according to their own sharehding, then there really is nothing to think about. I've no idea if this has been clarified, but if it hasn't been it would help.
Also to add, if the minority shareholders don't pay their pro-ratered amount then KLD can dilute their shares
"Lee Johnson frustrated about lack of funds". "All may not be as it seems with the owners"(Money at Sunderland). "unrest between board room and players". "The more Roy Keane found out about the club the more he knew it wasn't for him, coupled with the offered contract".
That's what I was trying to get at. I'd assume that would be the case, though it would be good to have it confirmed by someone who knows more than me. Certainly, if it were me, I wouldn't be happy with investing into something to enrich someone who wasn't doing the same.
Lack of funds? League 1 clubs don't really spend so any manager in this league wouldn't really be expecting much? I still think we would have spent a decent amount for this league getting the "free" players in. All may be as it seems owners/money? Sounds like a guess. Boardroom and players unrest? Not sure what that could be about, do boardroom and players have much to do with each other? All sound like guess work and speculation to me. Gossip!
