Looks like a small boot so perhaps it’s a lower calf tear. Hopefully this is precautionary but for the hospital to put him in a boot it doesn’t look good.

NFL players leave in those aircasts all the time and play the following week. If he played through a strain they'll just be limiting pressure on the muscle.
