He's the first managerial appointment since Allardyce that I've actually agreed with and feel excited about. I think he'll do very well with us providing we don't do what Preston did and sell our best players.

If he can somehow get us promoted this season, then our top players will stay and he can build on that during the summer. It's gonna need money to stabilise in the Championship mind, but I think our owner doesn't need to be told that.

    The Managerial Madhouse Roundabout continues.

And, it seems that the lessons from even recent history have been totaly ignored.
    AGAIN.

For instance I've just skimmed through the list of our 'permanent' Managers since 1980.
I consider ten to have been failures, seven, if not all success stories, at least OK, and six I have no feelings about, either way.
If I repeated the exercise, with more time, I might come up with slightly different figures.
The most successful during that period has been Peter Reid.
Is it just a coincidence that he is also the lonest serving manager?
    I don't think so.

My point is that changing Manager is rarely the answer to the problem.

So, how about just relying on LUCK?
We have had two previous Preston Managers during this period?
Guess how well you might consider Moyse and Grayson did for us?

As for this new volunteer to enter The Lions Den, I will give him my full suppoert, as I did his predessors.

But the lessons from History are against him.

Maybe it's the character of the manager rather than the club he previously managed. It's been seen before that manager's who come here with the "right let's get this going" attitude, in my time supporting I'm thinking Smith, Reid, Keane (to an extent) Allardyce whereas others were the job is far too big for them before they stepped into the job. Let's hope Neil falls into the first category.

Think that was supposed to be praise for his ambition and his expectation to be managing us in the championship.

I do think we've done well to get someone of his calibre, I guess it's the reward for the fantastic support the club gets on match day.

No not a negative, seen it as a positive that he sees us as an attraction even though its our 4th year in league 1 plus must like the challenge and confidence to get us up and then be a championship manager again.

Heres hoping he gets off to a good start and we can put a good run together

"But the lessons from History are against him."

Once managing the same club as one that Moyes once managed isn't a lesson ...

... what you have there is a coincidence <laugh>
