I’m happy with Neil but the way the club has handled this has been nothing short of a disgrace. The lingering stench of Methven just adds insult to injury.
@mwalker2771 Alex Neil is taking training at Sunderland this morning and will be announced as the new manager soon. First game is Wimbledon away tomorrow @Phil__Smith Alex Neil overseeing final preparations for AFC Wimbledon game at #SAFC today He'll be in charge tomorrow so would expect confirmation in the not too distant future.
sadly i have to agree with those who have voiced concerns over the handling of all this, i really hoped we had moved on from all that but, i suppose the new owner has to 'live and learn' in his job as most do and hopefully we wont see a repeat...i honestly believe keane throwing his hat into the mix has caused most of it as it may have thrown the owners slightly off track. i am still hopeful we can get a good run going over the last games, especially when broadhead returns, but these last 6 dropped points are going to be crucial i think.
Yeah, I will never support anyone else but Sunderland. However we are playing crap and look to be staying in the turd division for another season. Not for certain yet, but odds are against us escaping yet once more. Will renew season ticket, but i am not rushing back to SoL after last weekend. Plus the obvious dithering over the new manager, about Keane... Normally diary cleared for matches...not anymore Eg golf or taking g'kids swimming
He wasn't our first choice.....but we welcome him with open arms. New player, or manager, he gets a clean slate, right? And, think about this....he knows he wasn't first choice, and that Keane turned us down...imagine his thoughts now on how he might think he has to fill Keane's boots, even though Keano didn't start. I bet, he is proper fired up inside guys. I hope the supporters chant his name before the match...just to give him a confidence boost ! Ha'way me bonny lads !!!!!
Makes me feel a little bit relieved to hear that mate as i don't think i could of stomached another game with Dodds inexperience in charge. Haway the Lads 15 Cup Finals left!!
Deliberaatelly misspelllls annd tpyes like hes hands havve beeened hit witth a hammer, it's a perssoonal joke against Soonderland sooporters to saay taht theys fick. Can't stand the cnut.
I’m feeling quite confident that Neill will do Sunderland a lot of good. In the brief interview on here he came across as a strong character who will not tolerate players who don’t give 100%. Anyone who doesn’t toe the line and play the way he instructs will just disappear from view.
Sorry you feel that way, thoroughly understandable though. Been there, seen it and got the Tshirt as the saying goes ( many times over too).
I still cant get my head round Johnson thinking he had a solid defence for his conduct during that. He put his shoulder into the fourth official as he walked off! he was lucky not to get a red for that.
Throwing away 9 points has ruined the season and a couple of hours for Neil to get some ideas across, hope it's enough to make a difference but a big ask if have thought so could be another defeat. Hope BW back
Cheers for that Think Speakmans end of season review will be quite interesting. He's going to have to earn some trust if not... But enough of that it's on the field that matters now and I'm a little more confident going forward than I was with LJ or scrappy do depending on your viewpoint
Strangely enough I think he was but when Keane threw his hat in the ring the whole circus started. It would have taken a brave man to appoint Neil once Keane let it be known he was interested. Oh for the purpose of clarity I have no inside knowledge on this matter just purely my opinion.
