There isn't any , and that's the problem. It's okay having games in gand, but not so good when you HAVE to win them. Same goes for Rotherham. So that's what we have to do. It looks hopeless but it isn't. We have to reset, get some wins and see how they react when there is hot breath on their necks. Over to you Alex and the lads. Get on with it, leave nowt undone, and give these mental, amazing fans something to shout about. You will be staggered at what you might get back.
There's more than us going to breathing down Wigan's neck mate. At the moment they've got their necks in front, but a couple of defeats at Rotherham and Wycombe and all of a sudden they are 4 or 5 points behind 2 or 3 teams with the games in hand. Then the pressure will build.
Definitely. MK Dons and Sheff Wed are on good runs too and much closer to Wigan than Ipswich. If Wigan implode we're right in the mix for 2nd spot. I think it's actually good for us that other teams are going to pressurise Wigan too.
I've watched Rotherham twice and they are not as good as us on one of their best days, its a big ask if the new man can get us ticking we will piss this league if everyone's pulling together
How to be a true Sunderland supporter.... 1. Be optimistic 2. See the best in the club in the worst of circumstances. 3. Have belief that'll it will all come right in the end..nomatter how far away that end might be. 4. Hope and pray the next manager will be the new messiah. 5. Have a passionate dislike for all things connected to NUFC. I love the fans on here ( well most of them) it's defo Sunderland Til I Die. HTL.
If its ok with you mate ill put my own little spin on that How to be a true Sunderland supporter.... 1. Be optimistic................................................................................THOUGH SOMETIMES YOU REALLY NEED TO PUSH THE BOAT OUT AFTER AN 8 DRUBBING 2. See the best in the club in the worst of circumstances...............YEP ALTHOUGH WE HAVEN'T REACHED THE VERY BOTTOM YET BUT WERE GOING THERE 3. Have belief that'll it will all come right in the end..nonmatter how far away that end might be. WELL IM AT AN AGE NOW WHERE IT BETTER BE SOON 4. Hope and pray the next manager will be the new messiah. HALLELUIAH PRAISE BE TO GOD BUT I THINK HIS DEAF AID IS TURNED OFF AT THE MO 5. Have a passionate dislike for all things connected to NUFC. GOES WITHOUT SAYING OR YOUR NOT A SUNDERLAND LAD ITS WITH YOU FOR LIFE I love the fans on here ( well most of them) it's defo Sunderland Til I Die. HTL. MORE GOOD ONES THAN BAD
this squad is more than capable of putting a run together and this time not suffer the bad streak, pressure is more or less off us atm and on the rest.
Not worth worrying about Wigan/Rotherham etc., Our season starts now. Heads down, ( except for Gooch) work hard, and see what the next 15 games holds for us. If we make the playoffs it's a bonus, if we don't we all know why. Just enjoy the ride. I do think we need to lift the recent doom and gloom, that's where the fans step in, loud and proud. That's one thing we can't be beaten on. Let's salvage a bit of pride from this season, and whatever happens we'll meet it head on. FTM.
Nothing against Newcastle United personally after all they did their best to keep us in the Premiership , but dislike RADIO NEWCASSSEL , and TOTAL SPORT in particular.
Rotherham already have the points on the board though Rog. They are 11 points clear of us with a game in hand. Their defence is what sets them up above the chasing pack. They've scored the same number of goals as us but conceded 25 fewer goals. AN has to properly organise our defensive set up. Do that and we'll be unstoppable.
Haway mate let me dream dinnut piss on my chips it was a great fantasy why it lasted. i wonder if the church would let an old crusty sinner back in just to pray for Sunderland after all these years absconding
If they fail to beat Charlton tomorrow, their next 3 are Rotherham and Wycombe (both away), then us at home. Could be a very different picture by the end of this month.
I said a couple of weeks ago that the next 5 games (before we play each other) could be season defining. Wigan are doing thei bit by dropping points, unfortunately we have failed to take advantage. Had we done it right we'd be 4 points ahead of them and suddenly their games in hand become "must win" Alas, there is Sunderland in a nutshell. I fear we'll never get out of this league
