They've won a major trophy a lot more recently than we have. They'll have been in this league for a much shorter stay than us come the end of the season in all likelihood. Don't buy into this tinpot ****, you can be as big a club as you like but if you aren't good enough on the grass then you'll finish behind plenty of 'tinpot' clubs that get it right.
Im on about needing to give free tickets away to fill their stadium when they play us. Not what theyve achieved on the pitch
I think any teams that have to give not one but 2 free tickets away to fill a stadium when they are going for promotion pretty embarrassing personally. Their fans have given us stick left, right and centre so far this season, so ill have my own little dig back thankyou.
This was obviously decided from their chairman a few weeks ago before we fecked it all up for ourselves as a way to fill their stadium against fellow promotion rivals and intimidate us abit. To have to allow people in for free to do that is abit embarrassing really.
Smart move by the club though. They know they struggle to sell tickets, so will be a quick win for an important game where both sets of fans are going to play a key part.
The ground will probably be full of egg chasers then. Most of them won't have a clue what's going on. "Hey ref, that was the 6th tackle!"
its a good idea, we've done similar things before to crank up the atmosphere. I don't think we're in a position to criticise anyone from our current car -crash situation, good luck to them, doing the business on the field, i wish we were.
It's a good idea tbh and they might even get a few extra fans attending more games on the back of it, speculate to accumulate. Maybe we should start sending a few extras out to random season card holders and hope to get a few more people interested again before we risk losing a load of the younger fans to other teams.
It really does put things into perspective and makes you realise how badly run we've been over the years when a club like Wigan with a 25k stadium, with about 5k of them being our fans need to give away 2 free tickets for such a high profile match for the league that we are in to fill the stadium. We are pretty shyte at the moment, but we still managed a gate of 38k last week. Like steesafc has already said, over the years they have had a lot more success than us with a smaller fanbase, lesser budget and much more basic training facilities than our pampered players have had over the years. Its all really depressing really when you think about.
Could be empty the away end by the time we play them at this rate, but we have fantastic supporters out there, and we could fill half that stadium no bother, shame this season is going to pieces.
Who ****ing cares. Have you seen the top clubs on their doorstep?? They are also a rugby league town, so doing what they can to attract fans. It wasn't that long ago when we give schools kids free tickets + offered discounts to season card holders for extras. The only embarrassing part is you trying to belittle them.
Pish off prick your 24 hours too late to comment on this thread now its ran its course. Who the feck are you anyway? Feck off back to RTG and do us all a favour
