I think we should go all out to win the European Conference thingy majig.

That's the only way we will qualify for Europe next season.

I'd just like to win a match convincingly. No drama. No injuries. Just a win.

Horrendous defending again. We have some serious issues, which we already knew. Think Youri has already left. Currently pretty dejected.

I don't even know where to begin with that today :headbang: :emoticon-0183-swear
I'm no where near as angry as I should be because I'm just not surprised.

Still, Liverpool to look forward to in the week <laugh>

Embarrassing doesn't even come close. How can this team have become so suddenly bad? Is it lack of effort or confidence? We looked more than comfortable for 20 minutes yesterday but went to pieces after conceding the first goal. The second goal was just unforgiveable from Amartey and the game was lost then.

But do we have to look elsewhere in yesterday's performance? At no time did we ever come close to bossing midfield in order to create chances for our striker. We played with 2 defensive midfielders in Ndidi and Tielemans. To support Maddison it was usually Wilf who ventured forward. With the best will in the world, Wilf is not the most gifted and creative of players going forward and has no pace to get back when we lose the ball, which leaves just Youri to protect the back line. Why not leave Wilf back to do what he does best and push a more creative player (not necessarily Youri - who does look like he's shipped out already) forward to help Maddison?

We looked dangerous in the first half down our left, except for when Soyuncu gave Luke Thomas ridiculous passes and we lost possession. What is it with Soyuncu?Barnes had looked like our most dangerous player but we didn't see him for the second half. Dewsbury-Hall was a welcome introduction but the game was already well and truly lost by that time.

It's all well Rodgers saying he is angry and embarrassed and that some players will be sacrificed, but he has to look at his team selection and ask himself if he could have done things better.

Really concerned now that opposition teams know our vulnerabilities and we'll just keep shipping goals. Will Fofana make a difference when he comes back? I hope we aren't expecting too much of him.

I thought Barnes was our best attacking player yesterday, god knows why he was taken off at half time and not Lookman!

Maddison, Justin and Wilf were the only one's who should keep their shirt for Thursday. Iheanacho took his goal very well, but lack of service (not for the first time) was the reason he wasn't really in the game.

We were the cup holders against our East Midland rivals and live on the BBC. If you can't get up and "be on it" for that game, then hang your boots up!!!

The only thing that can save our season is winning the Europa Conference.

Oh, and I hope that p**ck who ran on the pitch and punched a Forest player gets sent to prison.

    What an absolute tool!!!!

What I don't get is where he got his ticket from.

Was he a) a season ticket holder whob has travelled to away matches for years (to get his points up to the point he can purchase away tickets)
or b) was given one by knowing a player or someone who works at the club, as if the rumours are true, had 1,500 corporate tickets to give away?!

I've suspected there has been a problem within the team itself for some time now, and that seems to have been somewhat confirmed by what Brendan has said since the game.
We've only ever played well when 'team spirit' is high, so that's what needs to be 'fixed'. Either the manager sorts that out now (and he's tried before) or he has to go. I don't want him to go, but it seems the easiest way from several points of view.

Whatever happens, I think we're likely to be in the doldrums for a while yet; The "Brendan out" hypothesis :bandit:

    Or

It's just a run of unusually poor displays mixed with a long run of injuries, and things will soon pick up; The "I believe" hypothesis! :emoticon-0103-cool:

    I'm f(cked if I know! :headbang:

We've played some bright and winning football under Rodgers, so I wouldn't like him to go, as I wonder who is out there and could be tempted in to do a better job.

Confidence is clearly low at the moment and we have had more than our fair share of injuries to players in key areas. The fact that we rely so much on Evans while knowing he is injury prone and getting on in years is a failure of the club to make sure we have a credible replacement, and so we are left with our version of the Chuckle Brothers and their 'to me, to you' shenanigans at the back, which have become the cause of our current decline.

If their is disquiet in the squad then it's going to be difficult to move this squad and the results forward without something changing. Hopefully the players, led by our captain, can sort some things out between themselves. Then we need the manager to start picking a team with the right players in their right positions.

Worrying times to think where we are this season after the previous two. Nobody here wants the bubble to burst so quickly.

Need a reaction and some sort of performance tonight. Play like we did at Forest and our record 9 goal difference score could be at risk <yikes>

**** knows how Lookman has got himself a start after his display at Forest ... but other than that I'm rather pleased with the changes ... jus wonder whether Hamza could have been included to rough them up a bit <cheers>

That was my feeling about Lookman starting, Fosse, but he actually put in a decent shift. He didn't create anything, but neither did anyone else in blue. He needs more consistency.

A much better performance on the whole, and Amartey looked a different, more confident player with Wilf next to him. Trouble is, we could have done with Wilf plugging that hole just in front of him and Amartey. Another good performance from Maddison and inspired keeping from Kasper. We need another scrapping performance at the weekend to get something from West Ham to get the confidence up.

Another tough watch yesterday. Thought we were going to get away with a win, which would have been interesting to see how that would have affected the next match.

First half was just about as bad as it could get. Conceding a schoolboy opening goal created by opponents getting the ball forward quickly. I wonder if we might ever consider trying that? I don't think we'll get the best out of Daka's pace if it takes the Chuckle Brothers 20 passes to get the ball over the half way line. We would have been better replacing him with Nacho in the last quarter of the game just to try and retain a bit of possession in the final third.

Ah well, one point is better than none. Onwards and sideways.

Couldnt have asked for much more against Wolves. Thought the second one was a bit dodgy but you make your own luck. Certainly hope Top is swayed by the naysayers and Rodgers gets the opportunity to play with our best team which doesnt look too far away.

Not sure what to make of that performance. The defence didn't get torn apart and we played some nice football in parts. But the body language in the first half was not encouraging - a complete lack of energy and urgency. Some players are looking like the situation is getting to them - particularly Wilf and Youri. Lookman was again our stand out player. And Daka was our most disappointing player. His lack of movement in the box and inability to drag central defenders out of position is starting to show how much work is needed to turn him into a premier league quality striker. He could start to make things happen if he would actually try and win the ball back at the front, but doesn't put opponents under pressure like Vardy.

The other worry is how many players we are losing to soft tissue injuries and strains. Too many are having a good game and then can't play the next one due to injury so we never get a settled side.

What do we think Soumare is going to bring to the team? He arrived for a pretty big fee and played plenty of games in the first half of the season, but now his game time is limited and Dewsbury-Hall seems to have taken his place. Admittedly I’ve not seen much of him so I’m wondering if we persevere with him what are his qualities, or do we cut our losses now Dewsbury Hall has stepped up?
