    I'm not sold on Doyle anyway.

    His distribution was clearly excellent at start but its deserted him, I can't remember one header he has won all season, and this is a bit controversial but he looks a bit overweight all the time.

    Well this is a coincidence. I mention Beevers and then i see this gets posted ??

    @MattyJHewitt
    #SAFC had an approach for Mark Beevers turned down on deadline day. Darragh MacAnthony says Lee Johnson was keen on the defender but Sunderland were put off by his wages earlier in the window. A late U-turn by Posh saw him stay in the Championship.

    I was told that as well on deadline day, but could not find any confirmation, if it is true we missed out big time, Beevers is just what we need. I think the upheaval came at the wrong time and ruined what could have been another good window. You have to ask what they were doing since before Xmas as you could see this coming a mile off. I could not stand LJ personally and questioned his ability to manage a game on many an occasion, he should have been fired much earlier or given the rest of this season while a successor who could actually coach a team was sounded out. This current situation has really shaken confidence in the "system" which is a shame as I think it is the way forward, not the instant fix we would all like to see, but it is sustainable. My thoughts are we should be able to change coaches regularly and this should be factored in from the off, the fact that Speakman has not done this leads to serious questions about him, not the players or the coaches who are unfairly taking the brickbats, and on this point where is Jeavons in all this.

    I also think a LB is only as good as the LW in front of him, first half against Doncaster Cirkin pushed forward quite a lot and had no support, then when we were caught on the break he was outnumbered.
    I always remember how good George McCartney was with Arca infront of him. When he came back from west ham and had no out and out winger in front of him, he looked totally lost

    I agree with you in that point. Best combination I can remember down that flank is Gray/Johnston followed by Gray and an out of position Stefan Schwarz who put the team ahead of personal preference on playing in the middle
