Definitely not. And he may prove to be an inspired signing. It just created a lot of noise. And distraction. Lee Johnson was always on the back foot because he wasn’t Poyet. Whoever comes in now won’t even be on the back foot for not being Keane. Many have said they’re done if its not Keane, and many others have said they’ll be chanting for Keane in the first game of the new manager. Personally whoever it is will get my full support. And yes I want my medal.
Absolutely. Defoe was a PR move as much as anything and not really a necessity. Keane is much the same.
Your argument absolutely collapses upon itself. In the 15 point season we were in the relegation zone all year. And you suggest it would be odd to expect improvement. By that logic, given we've been at the top of the table all year, it would be odd to think we will fall away. You're doing the very thing you're mocking. Johnson has gone. The change has been made. Now it's about getting the right man appointmented. All of your talk of truth is just absolute waffle. It isn't a case of truth and lies. It's a case of remaining behind the club and not adding to the petulance and turning on everyone as scapegoats.
Then the club should have come out the second Keane was mentioned and said “he’s not coming back we’re going with xyz instead”. the club fanned the flames with its silence on Keane and did even more by building up the Defoe signing as well.
Whether or not Keane is the right man or not, the only thing that can give Wimbledon a sense of occasion and excitement is for Keane to be in the dugout ... ... there are probably better long term managers but people want a lift now.
Come to the realisation Keane isn't coming. And when we announce Lennon or mccan it's going to be toxic next Saturday
If the club want keane they haven’t fanned the flames at all. Keane did that with his cheeky smirks on TV. And the journalists and ITKs reporting it was as good as done. (Not blaming them). If none of that had happened the furore would not exist
on Defoe absolutelely. And if he’s liked any on keane then agree there as well entirely. Not a fan of him doing that even when he knows the outcome. Didn’t work with Donald on Twitter, won’t work with KLD on Insta or TikTok
I don’t like McCann but I also don’t understand why Sunderland fans would hope the atmosphere at Sunderland is “toxic as ****” just because we don’t appoint keane. It’s as if keane is the only option to get us promoted. Yet one of the alternative options being discussed actually won the league last season. would I prefer Keane? Every day of the week. Is McCann for example enough for me to hope the club folds / is toxic - of course not
i actually think a bit of old fashioned thinking to complement the new thinking would be pretty good right now
Why, whoever it is, is here as Sunderland manager if supporters get toxic immediately after a new manager is announced then they aren’t supporters. I’d prefer Keane but I’m behind anyone that plays for/managers the badge till it goes tits up. Are you?
Super Sunday will be interesting the next time Keane and Jones are on together if he isn't appointed. Be interesting to see if its mentioned or referenced at any point to see what actually went on at any time.
