The last two matches have been a leveller to where we are. We where never going for play offs. We have some decent players. We won’t go down. Derby are a better team than us. Shota got it wrong. On a good day we will win some matches. There is every chance we will lose to Fulham. Yes we need to play better but for the love of god or whoever give this new regime a chance. It’s about the future not meltdown as soon as we **** up. If we lose the ones we should take points from I,ll be more critical but for now…
I went to bed and calmed down..... for some reason the defence has become panic stricken. I dont know if its whats behind them and Ingram was absolutely gash last night, or what wasn't in front of them which is where the problem really lies. Fleming who no one can criticise for his performance again last night (probably our best offensive outlet) was exposed down the left by a speed ball and not one member of the midfield decided to break our back line and offer assistance. The 2nd was a defensive keystone cops goal, the 3rd, well the less said the better. We are slow!!!!!... and any team with someone quick or even quick thinking, because we're not that either, Archer Saturday and Obesele last night will rip us one and did. IMO and im prepared to be shot down, if you take those two players out, we likely get two draws and someone isn't doing their homework pre game too know that, or even after 5/10 minutes!!!! As I said before kick off, Forss must have it in his loan he gets minutes because he was anonymous and missed two unmarked in the 6 yard box and we looked 5 times better when Eaves came on .. and Walsh, who scouted him!!!? Lastly, I'll give the manager time, but 4 attackers on the pitch at one time is just poor management. Lastly lastly, if we score first KLP last night, Eaves Saturday, different results...?
If he's only had a few weeks why not just stick with what's working until he knows the players better?
And once again, much like the Preston game, on another day… KLP’s missed early header, the chance where he cut inside and forced a good save not long before or after, Honeyman and Forss breaking 2 on 1 after stealing the ball and ****ing it up, whoever’s powerful free header it was from just outside the 6 yard box that just went over (Docherty?), the goal, McLoughlins missed tap in. Still had plenty of opportunities to get a result, despite being completely outplayed from front to back.
Before the Blackburn game, if we'd been told we where getting 9pts from the next 5 games then I'm sure most would have been very happy with that. Yes those points probably would have been seen as coming from different games then they have but 9pts would have been a return most where happy with.
I wonder whether it's just possible that despite Shota knowing he was coming in for months and being with us for a whole fortnight already he still needs to see players in training regularly, see how they react when playing matches, and see how they all gel etc before he sorts his favoured team and formation. Similarly I also wonder whether sometimes managers need to change things depending on who they're playing, who is fit, whose head is in the right place etc. And lastly it could be, unlikely I know, that our squad isn't quite as strong as some other teams in the Championship. If we stay up I'll be delighted.
People keep saying things like that, saying 'miracle' etc etc. Yes, he's doing a decent job, and has them playing for him / the cause; fair play. But, the fact is, he's got some very very good players, and a great blend of experience and youth. Were it not for the points deduction, they would be play off contenders, so why is it a surprise or 'miracle' that they're about to come out of the bottom 3, ahead of 3 woeful sides?
Last night we was absolutely garbage worst performance of the season. It’s a football message board it’s ok to criticise that **** show. But yes it’s only a game but an expensive time consuming one to follow so say people can say what they like. The coach got everything wrong last night and he needs to learn quickly, also the throwing every forward on at the end was like a Sunday league manager and it was embarrassing.
That's rubbish. As someone else already posted, take a look at his stats. They are incredible. He was played as a wing back, not as a full back. Yes, he got badly done by their winger for the goal. It happens when you are up against players as dangerous as that. Greaves should have moved across to cover but didn't. Both will learn and will improve, but making comments like that is ridiculous.
I'm fairly convinced we'll stay up but it's pretty much fact that our squad isn't as strong as many others in this division.
Thought exactly the same about Greaves not moving into the space to cover as it was obvious what was going to happen. And, as I said last night, the player causing all the trouble last night is 19. We have fans saying players are young, learning their trade etc who are 21.
Nonsense DBT, far too negative. Arvo should have known our players inside out, err, from video footage, even the ones he didn't know we were signing. Managers should know their best team and play it every week regardless of the opposition. We've absolutely got a top 6 squad, you must know that 'cos half this board's got bets on it. Having said all that, we were a bit duff last night...
Except he didn't! He brought 2 attacking players on. Eaves as CF and AS. At most it was reverting to 3 up top (although AS was arguably behind the 2). KLP dropped to more of a wing back role with Coyle coming off, and Honeyman deeper with Walsh having gone off. He tried to set it up with more attacking intent / threat, but it was not a case of "throwing every forward on at the end" (as we seemed to see, and he joked about, on occasions with Brucie for example). I'm not defending Shota or saying he got things right - imo he didn't.
He could have done what McCann so often did and then be castigated for replacing with like for like as he was by the experts.
It's not rubbish, I criticised his positioning for the third goal, which was rubbish. He got done for the second goal as well. He was good in the Swansea game, so let's see how he goes.
