as bad as things felt back then - that was at the start of the season with the whole season ahead to turn things round. And it was in the championship, a place we’d kill to be nowadays. the situations just don’t compare.
I’m confident that the Eastleigh lot don’t have any say at SAFC but the fact they’re stood with KLD at the game is just another misery compiler. Read the room FFS. Fans patience is wearing thin and he knows how much they damaged the club. He even outed them in his first interview. Why is he putting himself in the position to be associated with them. It just rings more alarm bells and casts further doubt.
The fact there are only 15 games left and current form, has got to be a massive part of Keane's decision making....combined with a possible short term contract on offer.
Right I’m actually going to bed now. It’s dawned on me that the club is in desperate need of some grown ups. KLD, Speakman, Johnson, Dodds. All young for their roles. Only person in senior role with any experience is Davison - and his experience was in the construction industry. Keane would be a start. More needed.
I have to agree and I've said it myself. Unfortunately we will loose the next generation of young fans from places like washing, Durham, Sheilds etc and possibly even kids form Sunderland. It's natural they will gravitate toward a team doing well, and if anyone thinks Newcastle won't with the resources they have, they're in kidding themselves. Im Sunderland till I die like all of us. We're going through a **** time, and one day we may get back into the championship but the reality is, leauge one will start to fill up with ex championship sides that are quite frankly better than us. Like at Rotherham,Hull,Blackburn, they kept a pretty much Championship side and went straight back up, we sell sell sell and and bring in kids and other leauge one players and its biting us on the arse.
Give him an 18 month contract, let him bring his own men in, sack ****ing Speakman, and get him to scour the free transfer market.
Can't say I've been impressed with him either tbh, he looks to be awful as well. The whole cashless sol/Eppleton, season ticket fiasco, closed TO and club shop etc were an issue long before the on the pitch stuff.
If Keane isn't announced tomorrow, I'm ****ing done with this club, won't be attending another game, and won't be renewing my season card. KLD, Methven, Donald, Sartori, Speakman, Davison, and Dodds can all go and get absolutely ****ed.
Still would rather be in our position than have what they have. Waving Saudi flags and sticking up for that regime.
I'm worried. KLD has yet to get any big decision right. He brought in Speakman (we can all see how that has gone), brought Johnson in, didn't lay a hybrid pitch, sacked LJ, at the very end of a transfer window, without lining up a replacement and has made a complete bollox of the recruitment process by announcing appointing a manager or that he was the preferred choice and that we were still to complete the interviewing process. I know KLD said he was in this for the long haul, but I never believed other than that this season was going to be all about getting back into the championship. When he bought SAFC we were looking like we had a chance of becoming a dominant brand in the region. Even after things turned around and the Saudis were allowed to buy NUFC, with them bumbling about in the relegation zone then it was still a possibility that SAFC could become a huge brand, but how likely is that now we seem to have pissed another season up the wall? Most of us lived through the Keegan period with NUFC becoming 'everyone's favourite 2nd club' and a generation of kids were lost to SAFC. The unwashed fell, for a number of reasons, plus we managed to come back and once more make SAFC attractive to our local kids. I don't know if KLD has ever been made aware of that period in history but as it stands I can see the Saudi money propelling NUFC to such a prominent position that we won’t be able to get 90% of local kids to support Sunderland (the other 10% will have been bullied, bribed or tricked into supporting SAFC). At that point KLD risks the potential fiscal regeneration achievable at SAFC being reduced to a mere fraction of that possible in January. He needs to pull his finger out bloody soon!
I'm canny confident they do have a say, as you say Methven was with Speakman and KLD tonight, he was pictured in SAFC gear with Sartori a few months ago. There has to be a reason there is an NDA over the share percentages, there sure as **** wasn't one when Madrox first took over.
Sat in the car in a car park on Seaham tops ****ing freezing to listen to that second half shambles as it was the only DAB radio i own. We're an absolute ****ing mess. Credit to T Hume and Matete, they did fantastically well under the circumstances. Its mentality as a team thats costing us, piss weak when we face a set back. The ability is there to win the league if we appoint the manager capable of sorting that side out.
