At least a sacking gives hope for a day or two, before they screw up again or more likely just do NOTHING

Christ man, he’s hardly been a good advert for having a Sporting Director, I may be angry but I would gladly ditch the ****er and go back to having a manager, even this early in his tenure
    ****ing useless

Aye he's created a mess alright. Difficult when you sack a manager mid season but it doesn't have to be this bloody difficult. Keane sounds like he's bang up for it and he's being pushed away, in the meantime we're losing everything.

Correct. The idea that you can't talk to a manager before you sack the one you have is for the birds and little children.

It happens all the time in the real world, and It happens all the time in football.

Has he done well we need strong defenders and midfield, none here yet. He's in charge of Football setup. Manager and assistant leave nobody in club to help short term only a 1-1 dev coach, where is the u23 or u18 coaches

He is weak as water - total chancer. It’s a common theme through the club- look at his coaching appointments and his non appointments like u23.

Sooner he is gone the better for Safc.

We have turned into the biggest under-achievers in Efl1 history and a laughing stock in a few short weeks.

Very worring the way our club is going
Was a real eye opener to see who was put in charge of the team
Was worried last year when they failed to sack Johnson
The buck stops with the owner

Bartth and Matete look good to me. Bearing in mind we're in a horrible patch of form I don't think it's fair to write anyone off who has recently signed. I saw Bartth v Portsmouth before it all went tits up and he looked spot on.

At some point we are going to have to employ someone for longer than half a season.

He has made three glaring mistakes since last summer....Not bringing in two good centre halves and a big midfielder. Everyone seen this but the man in charge of recruitment. Its now showing just how inept this guy really is.

I'm all for a DOF but it has to be the right one and I don't think he is, I have been impressed with the recruitment and who we brought in but that isn't the only job involved. There are some major decisions that needed to be made and he's totally ****ed them up, Keane has mentioned that he's quite happy with the coaching roll as it was all the other crap of sorting contracts and dealing with players problems that he didn't like the first time.
Just looking from the outside it looks to me that speakman is worried he'll not be Billy big bollocks if we get Keane instead of a yes man.
Problem is if he was doing his job properly there would be no reason for Keane to try and interfere with transfers etc if he was bringing in the best players available, maybe he's not as confident in his own abilities as he would like us to believe

This is the man who stated this :

Speakman spoke of how part of the club’s long-term planning is to track and identify candidates in the case of a dugout change, using scouting and data analysis to spot coaches thriving in a similar game style to the one on Wearside

What has happened over the past week has underlined that the club was in no way ready to manage that process when the ownership opted for a sudden change in direction.

In the latter stages of the process Sunderland have spoken to Roy Keane, Grant McCann, Alex Neil and Sabri Lamouchi. All have their positives and their drawbacks, but where is the cohesion in that list?

It has been a week that has spoken to a distinct lack of cohesion, the bizarre timing compounded by the fact that the deadline day that followed brought two good signings, yes, but ultimately failed to address key defensive deficiencies.

This is not how this club was meant to operate.

    Sunderland Echo
    Phil Smith

Failed miserably in that and should go, its not as thought he is totally lacking in experience ,is it?

Can't recall anyone in a position of power completely sabotaging a season before.

    Out. Out. Out.

IMO we should bring in a manager, get on with playing football and put the pitchforks to one side for the moment ...

... there are no more decisions to be made this season so lets see what we can rescue from the situation.

Yes we're all angry but more disruption won't help.

Sorry to go against the mood but we have a match in two days.
