Not for me, I'm afraid. Anyone's free to start a thread on it though, if they wish.

 

Think it is a well worded statement.
I took part in the survey so am really pleased that they emphasise that we responded to abuse by using the y word to display pride in ourselves and our club.

Think it is time to move on and it is a shame that the likes of Baddiel sought to blame us for anti semitism at Chelsea rather than call his own racist scum element out and that's ignoring the fact that he himself used to mock spurs for being a "Jewish club" on his fantasy football show yet has completely ignored this inconvenient fact.

It'll take time due to habit so I hope there is continued common sense rather than punitive action.

My view on reclaiming language is that I do understand it but also get why it makes issue confusing.

I am mixed race and am often mistaken for Asian...the is no way I would use the p word (unless relaying an incident) as it would give actual racist an excuse to use it and would make others uncomfortable.

I know people who use the word "queer" to describe themselves and a lot of the gay movement uses the term as in LGTBTQ.
Personally I think it's a mistake but there is no way I would blame them for homophobia.

Sorry its so long winded but I can't answer it as a simple yes or no

 

Interesting how the authorities have made far more about singing the Y word (in pride / solidarity / without malicious intent), than the ever did for the Chelski "fans" making gas noises (among other horrendous behaviour).

 

I think (in simple terms) that to use the word, even in a self deprecating way, helps keep it in circulation and will be seen as licence for others to use it.
The modem way is bury things in the hope they go away

The experiment would be to not use any of the "Yid"
chants in away games against two specific clubs, and
see what happens.

If things prevail, then IMHO those clubs are fair game
for the chants, and f**k them and their apologists.

I've never been comfortable with the Yid chants , I cant recall it being used in the sixties or early 70s and it was in retaliation to certain other London clubs
It would not bother me to never hear it again
