I know, I was quoting AP's claim knowing it was over egged. The fact that even over egged, it can be seen to not reach 50% of the costs to run the Stadium, suggests an imbalance in funding. I guess it could be argued they don't use it as much, but in that case, they are by definition minority tenants, and the stadium should reflect that in colour schemes, banners etc.
It will be in several sets of accounts, as the football side is only one aspect, so care needs to be taken when quoting a figure, as demonstrated by AP's claim.
As I mentioned, care needs to be taken with any figures quoted, as those two together, don't meet the Stadium running costs, so cannot be accurate.
They could be in theory (I've no idea whether they are) because we already know the rent doesn't cover the running costs which is why the SMC runs at debt doesn't it?
In 2018 City paid £759,500 for leasing land and buildings. I assume the bulk of that would be rent for the SMC.
And this is where rent and rates do start to blur, as I would have thought that the 'rent' that we pay to the SMC is in order for the SMC to then pay the rates for the upkeep for the stadium.
All debt was written off as part of the sale as far as we're aware. That £18m debt was not just run up because the rent is too low for the costs, there's a lot of football costs that were loaded onto the SMC when they really shouldn't have been. We had to spend millions on upgrades to meet Premier League requirements, these were purely football costs and would normally be paid for out of the £200m you get for being promoted, but the Allams loaded them on the SMC instead.
So City subsidised the SMC to the tune of £18,000,000 on top of paying more rent. The SMC still made a loss, so without that they'd have needed more from FC. Pretty much what was said from the get go.
Perhaps upkeep was the wrong word, but I was referring to the power and running water needed to keep the stadium operating. Happy to have the conversation with you but constant personal digs are really rather boring.
They're not digs. Even your 'clarification' shows you still don't grasp the basics. You're not really adding much to the discussion as a consequence.
As you are far more enlightened than me on the matter, perhaps you can explain to me what the money we pay to the SMC is used for then?
Sometimes users read things that aren't there, then they read it again and the penny drops. Others may read again and still not twig, hey ho. That is all.
