The defeat on Saturday has heaped the pressure on, if we’d have won that game their wouldn’t be as big a meltdown going on. I’m not defending the amateur way the clubs went on mind.
It’s the options that are so depressing.... if it’s not Keene then McCann, Lennon or Neil... be honest would have rather kept LJ
Alan Nixon tweeted last night that the club had met 5 last week. If that's true, there's at least one more option to be added to those.
Sunderland are in ‘advanced talks’ with Roy Keane over their vacant managerial position, MailOnline has revealed. Keane, 50, is closing in on a sensational return to the Stadium of Light to take up the Sunderland managers’ job once again. https://the72.co.uk/262204/sunderland-in-advanced-talks-with-roy-keane/
It's hugely frustrating but it's a massive decision and complicated situation. Keane wants the job, but doesn't need the job, which will make negotiations unbalanced in his favour. Appointing the likes of Neil would be quicker and easier but wouldn't give the club the boost it needs. For the sake of a few more days I'm prepared, if not happy, to grit my teeth and wait.
"He is set for a 2nd interview this week and Sunderland hope to have a manager in place for their weekend game v AFC Wimbledon."
I hope it's not days mate....would love the new man to be at the match tonight and an announcement tomorrow.
Agree with this. I do think it should have been slicker and quicker than this - it’s potentially very costly for us - but a quick wrong appointment would be worse for our future. The Speakman bashing on RTG is embarrassing mind. There are a growing selection of lunatics on there.
