Whether or not you think a manager should have been in last week or tomorrow, picking virtually the same 11 as Bolton was shocking.
Scary mate, would could feasibly drop 6 points in 4 days. It would be devastating, this should have been sorted last week
100% agree with that. Obviously we are limited at the back after Speakmann harnessed his inner Martin Bain last week but stick Roberts and Clarke in the team and freshen things up at least
As sure as eggs are eggs...if the proposed deal with Keane falls through...for whatever reason...and we appoint McCann....our new ownership and management are going to feel real heat for the first time! And, performances and results will need to vastly improve from the start, otherwise McCann too, perhaps unfairly, will also find himself under almost intolerable pressure. If Keane gets the job, most of us will allow a little tolerance...but even that won't last long. We have a talented squad here.....someone will have to build on what's already been done and fire them into a play-off spot....anything else will kill us and the 38k+ crowd from Saturday will dwindle into 22k ish in a blink.
How on earth has it gone from Keane being imminent on Friday afternoon to now being a 2nd interview. Only Sunderland can screw what appears to be a no brainer.
Yep, and I'm not convinced it'll be sorted before Wimbledon on Saturday but that's probably another game where the arrogance has us down for 3pts.
Sacking Johnson wasn't a mistake, and though ideally a new head coach/manager would be in place by now, I can see the reasoning for the time taken to appoint. Especially if its to get the right person in, rather than just anyone available at short notice. If that person is Keane, and they do get him in, maybe they had no choice but to wait for his other commitments to finish before announcing. For me, the mistake was putting Dodds in charge for Saturday, and then picking the same team as away at Bolton. It would be an even bigger mistake if they then let him do it again tomorrow. I think Keane will be announced today, or at the latest tomorrow morning. I think he will be at Cheltenham tomorrow.
No one knows completely what is happening. But folk are quick to have a go at the club without knowing the full facts.
Selling Flanagan, Hume and O'Brien to get their wages off the books and hoping he could bring in cheaper replacements
We don't know there is second interviews I very much doubt there is. Also people saying should have had this sorted straight away maybe Keane wouldn't turn his back on itv until he did the work he committed to for them, it has been very lucrative to him.over the years and I imagine him to being quite loyal to that. There could be all kind of hold ups while they wait for their man, the problem being the blokes left in charge in the meantime are just doing the same thing that failed Johnson. Worse in fact, cb's notnon the bench ffs.
We brought in Defoe for O'brien mate that is definitely an upgrade. Flanagan was the only one we possibly should have kept until we got a replacement in first. I'm pretty sure the club were not going after cheaper replacement though. Again let's have another dig at the club without knowing the full facts.
