thing is, in 'our day' we were as likely to try and stop them as joining in if people were outnumbered, these days they all line up with the mobiles laughing and make no attempt to stop it as it might get them a few 'likes' along the way.
I thought it may have been my imagination but it seems my suspicions were right ... ... trouble at the SOL tomorrow wouldn't surprise anyone, Portsmouth have a real problem with their low intellect supporters. I am 'chaperoning' my lad and a couple of his mates away at Forest tomorrow. They are all bigger and quicker than me, but have no nose for trouble. I am in a box chilling but they are under strict instructions to leave the ground only when I ring them. Not saying I am some kind of chuck norris, but I will steer them away from areholes, hopefully.
I used to hate going to matches with mates who were oblivious to what was happening around them ... ... they'd think I was paranoid Forest v Derby is always a tetchy affair, mostly away from the ground from what I've seen.
Loads of trouble with our fans and the police over the bar shutters being closed, battens and flares then all kicked off, many left after 4 but mainly to get away from the trouble, as I said in the match thread, you not see or hear anything?
The Bolton support was pathetic and spent all pre-match taunting the Sunderland section. At half time a fair few went down and were pretending to try to get at Sunderland on the concourse. A steward came through the big door, between the two sections, and Sunderland piled through. Towards the end the game the handful of Bolton, who'd been ejected, were up on the bank shouting the odds. The lads I came out with walked up and battered them without any prelim. It was kicking off, on the concourse, as I left.
I didn't see that but it wouldn't surprise me mate. We were in the Beehive pre-match and there was a group of about 20/30 young lads who were drunk/drugged. It was the same on the.concourse and I went down twice. The atmosphere was edgy and the stewards were acting up. Doesn't surprise me if it went over the edge tbh.
Agree with this. There was some absolute states amongst our lot today. Some struggling to stand up. Pleased I got away when I did, had a couple of texts off mates who said it wasn’t good later on in the game down in the concourse.
Had a walk to the vic after game and the scenes were a throwback to be honest. One group of Sunderland lads who were clearly intent on bother found it and got a real pasting off some Bolton lads. Me and my two lads got chatting to the Bolton fans in there who were spot on and hoped we could scramble up. The violence soured what was already a pretty grim day.
Points should be awarded to Accy and the next few games played behind closed doors. There was a good chance he would of scored first time. Gotta make a stance to stop it happening again.
I like to watch a fair bit of non league footy. I have never seen any tension really in the past but a couple of times this season I have not liked what I saw. One lad, early 20s, was absolutely mortal and wandering round the ground like he owned it. I have a place leaning against a floodlight on a bank away from most people where I like to stand. There was an old fella, must be in his 70s, with a stick, stood down the bank and the youth started saying stuff to him and doing this daft bloody dance. I wandered down the bank and told him to move along (words to that effect). He wandered off and then turned round and shouted a mouthful of abuse at me. Fortunately the group of fans he was with came and moved him on and one older gent came and apologised for his behaviour. There seems to be this sort of crap creeping into society more and more in my opinion. I know I am an owld miserable sod, but when I was younger I would have got a clip off one of our own for behaving like that.
