Not after a medal, just answering your question of my support. Yeah you’ve slagged off Dan Neil because he hasn’t met your lofty expectations yesterday. That’s the problem with people like you, you do get carried away, because you don’t understand football. You don’t understand the highs and lows of young footballers. They are still learning the game, something you need to do.
Loosely translated as “I saw how good he was. I saw his ability and I lauded it earlier in the season. But now he’s having a dip in form, he’s overrated “?
i said early season that these young lads would have bad games and i have also said lately they looked as if they needed a break. i have also said that neil and embelton tend to get 'let off' after a bad day because they are academy lads and i believe that to be true, look at how some attitudes have altered with gooch in recent months, for a while he could do no wrong. the talent is there but as others have said they are looking knackered and a lot is being put onto them, i would rather they were given a break for a couple of games here and there than possibly destroy their confidence. we have evans (who i thought had his best game for us, others thought he went missing) and pritchard, both have seen it all before and they both showed some fight but i honestly do not think evans, neil, embelton, pritchard can play together and feel at least one of embelton/neil should not be starting, that said, slagging players off is never good and the likes of flanagan who was our weakest link last season actually came good this season until his last couple of games with us but some could not give him credit when he played well and just sat waiting till he had a bad game to start slagging him off again. the fans expect better from this squad and i am sure we can both understand and feel that frustration but giving the players that kind of stick is not good.
As much as I'm grateful short didn't totally ruin us, I do think our current position is ultimately down to him.
As soon as the new man is announced, and we beat Cheltenham, it'll turn round in a flash ... ... in fact I might do a victory flash in the town centre I have spares btw, if you can make it.
Sadly the experienced players like McGeady, O'Nien, Burge, etc, are all out ... ... plus eager replacements like Huggins and Broadhead who'd make a real difference. We need the new lads to step up and fast.
Thanks for letting me know mate. Would love to be there, but my next one is burton at home. If your there, will meet for a pint.
So, apparently Xhemajli was fit to play yesterday but Dodds decided not to put him in the squad and instead chose a central midfielder to play right side of a 3 FFS man
"We didn't feel that we needed another defender on the bench. "Arby has been magnificent, he has been working with me with the U23s and he has been a proper pro. "It was a really tough decision and a really tough conversation for me to have in terms of not picking him in the squad. "We wanted to have more attacking options with Patrick Roberts there [on the bench]. "It's one of those - you live and die by the sword and we wanted those attacking options. "I'm in the hotseat, so I will take that criticism."
What is the obsession with tinkering with formations. Johnson did it every week. What is wrong with identifying a way to play (admittedly with a plan b) the recruiting players to play in that system? We have looked at our best this season when we have played 4-2-3-1. We have a squad full of wingers who are not best served in a set up that requires wing backs and we have full backs who are not experienced as wing backs As far as I could tell yesterday we were playing something like the following: Hoffmann Winchester.....Bathh Doyle ...............Evans Neil...........Cirkin Gooch.............Pritchard...Embleton Stewart
Not on what I have seen tbh, I like most had great hopes for him, and still do, but he looks far from ready to me atm., putting him in at present could be a mistake. I am also a bit concerned about the U23's this season the whole team seem slightly under par compared to last year. While I'm on I would like to say we are giving little credit to Donny who had obviously been lifted by the occasion and had a plan, unlike us. And apart from Arby have we got another central defender to put on the bench ?
I'm at the next three games then arriving at Cumloden Estate in Scotland. As soon as I'm settled I'll start looking at trains/matches/accom
Yeah - from what I've seen he wouldn't help us to keep clean sheets. We don't really have any other fit central defenders apart from Johnson in the U23s. We do have an untried right back though.
Is this showing that Speakman is not up to the task. We lost manager and assistant from first team and the only person he could put in charge was a one / one development coach. Where is the other first team coaches, u23 team coaches or even u18 coaches. How has he been allowed to run these important position down.
