People are not slagging off these young players. It is flustration with the Management of the club. These young players should not play as many games in a row but taken out of the firing line to recharge their batteries. Doyle and Neil have looked shot for a few games now.

I agree Marcus, Dan Neil is a next level footballer struggling in a difficult situation at the moment, I just hope he plays at the next level with us.

Saying someone is overrated is slagging off in any language.

I know for certain that he’s getting slagged off. I also recognise the same sort of things were said about Henderson. I’ve heard it at the game too. It’s not “he’s been played too much”. It’s literally calling him rubbish.

I didn’t say they wanted to see Real Madrid. They wanted to see a performance and a win against the bottom club in the league. Who are bottom because they are dogshit and have been getting thumped by clubs around us as recently as last week. Don’t think it such a big ask it would always have been a game we would have looked to win and even the diehards cannot have failed to have been utterly disappointed in that result.

It was a perfect opportunity for the club to show everyone that they are working to do better. We started well, battered the **** out of them for 15 minutes but as soon as they started playing the ball over the top crumbled and reverted to type. A direct consequence of learning nothing from LJs last game and changing nothing in the way we play the game. The movement off the ball was non existent our reactions when the opposition had the ball were slow. Certain characters have been poor for weeks but we start them week in week out.

We should have made a change at half time to give the new players half a chance to have an impact. Jack Clarke looks to have something about him, there’s a certain style to his play that top players have and he’s got that. He should start the next game and he was a highlight in the second half. Matete looked decent too looks like he’s hard to knock off the ball is happy with the physical side of things. Second half we showed some improvement and with a bit more luck we should have got a draw. However we really should not be relying on luck to beat Doncaster. The goalkeeper time wasting was absolutely disgusting too and the ref was pathetic as usual.

Think we need to blood all of these new additions asap because something has to change if we want to improve our fortunes on the pitch.

    Only when he talks!

I don't really know about the extent of the work he is doing that we don't see, hopefully that is up to par or better, and hopefully it will result in getting in a good manager, preferably Keane.

But he does talk in strangulated jargon some of the time. As with Johnson, buzz words and a ready cliché are always mixed in.

But, he has a big job to do this week, even if that means ceding some of what might have been part ofhis role; picking a manager. He might have to get out of the way, ( if of course he happens to be in it, which he may not be) and let it happen.

I never said you said they wanted to see Madrid? I was going off what i seen and heard around me yesterday, I agree with your post. However, We were always going to play LJs tactics yesterday because that's what the players are used to.

I took it as you were referring to my post as you posted just after me last night when I said the club blew an opportunity to hook those fans back into the fold.

Before 2 o clock yesterday I was actually feeling sorry for Doncaster and was going to post something about hoping Younger does ok. I expected a big win.

When I saw the team sheet doubts flooded in. Where were Clarke, Roberts, Potato and possibly Hume?

Within about 20 minutes I recognised our hesitant play and then their first goal, much like how Bolton opened us up, confirmed how fragile we are.
The constant passing between our CB’s, then to the GK and a frantic hoof upfield showed how little we have changed. We slow it down so that the opposition can all get back to form their defence then pass to whichever of our players has the most opponents around him.

Ken Dodd shouldn’t be allowed to manage on Tuesday.
Why not get O’Nion or McGeady to do it. Danny Collins or Gary Bennet OBE would do a better job as well.

Yes I do attend games, I have met people on this site at games.

I wasn’t there yesterday, but I will make the 632 round mile trip to watch us against Burton. Which will involve me spending hundreds of pounds on trains, hotels and tickets.

Id say that qualifies me as a supporter?

You carry on slagging our born and bred young academy players off, I’ll carry on supporting the club.

You and I have clashed in the past (a few times) but I 100% agree with you here. Utterly ridiculous comments re Dan Neil. Next level already but struggling for form. Certain people hang him out to dry. Boils my urine somewhat!!

Of course you want your team to win, but losing is part of the game, and booing is unacceptable for me.

It’s all getting toxic again, at the worst time possible.

When do you want your medal? Top supporter.

Who have I slagged off? I said Dan Neil is over rated, even from myself I got carried away earlier in the season.

The lad has lived and breathed Sunderland his whole life. Recently signing a new contract expressing his love for the club.

He’s had some very good games and some average games, and most people will accept that because they understand he’s still young and learning the game.

Some people expect a pele performance every week, and will openly criticise him if their lofty expectations are not met. Ironically these are the same people Dan Neil would have shared the terraces with.

When Johnson was sacked I thought surely we must have a replacement waiting.
