Exactly my thoughts. Neil is an exceptional footballer but it’s his first full season and has played a lot of games at a reasonable intensity and let’s face it playing on a tatie field isn’t doing him any favours at all
Obsessed behave yourself Call it as I see it, he’s not very good. Definitely not reliable enough to be our only left back Fans desperate for him to be good because we’ve plucked him from obscurity
part of me is also worried that we are hanging our hats on Keane fixing everything. We have squad full of weaklings, mentally and physically
Even without injuries this season had the potential to do what it's started to do. When you look at our side, it's either not geld or inexperienced. An entire campaign with this was always going to be a big ask when injuries mounted up. Hoffmann, first senior season and in a foreign league, Cirkin, first season in men's football, Doyle, first season in men's football, Batth, played 3 games for us, Winchester, been with us a year but playing out of position mainly. Evans, been in and out of the side with injuries, first season with us. Neil, first season in men's football, Gooch, experienced player with us and possibly why he got the nod ahead of others. Embleton, first full season in the side. Pritchard, first season with club, not played much football for a while before joining us, so may have dip in form and condition. Stewart, been with us one year, alot being asked of him. Subs, Clarke, been with us a week. Matete, been with us 5 days, Defoe, been with us 5 days. No doubting there is quality and potential that should be smashing teams, (and we have) but they won't do it over 46 games. More experienced members of the squad can't come back soon enough.
The club have and well and truly shot themselves in the foot. The club being speakman. Not impressed.
A lot of us keep saying we have a very good squad, I for one know very little of this division, do not know what players the other clubs have.
Last week was the second worst result in our history, this fûcka today blew it out of the watta. Stewart has no chance( he’s a quality footballer) and Pritchard tried his best the others barring the subs are a diabolical disgrace. And the 2 wànkers that picked the team and didn’t change it till it was too late should never call themselves professional coaches again.
That's my worry tbf. Like most of us I was there for keanes first spell. It was mint. Best since Reid. It wasn't as quick as some seem to think though. There was a bit of an upturn immediately but we weren't title winning stuff until a few months in. I hope it's him, but even if it is, getting us ready for playoffs (which after today look likely, assuming we improve and get into them) it's a hard ask. If we want him and we trust him it's got to be a longer term deal
Sounds like it’s Keane or Speakman. Hopefully it’s Keane all day. Sick of our out of depth coach’s corporate self preservation tripe.
Why would it be Speaan or Keane? If its cause Keane won't work under the new system then I wouldn't be getting rid to keep him. He isn't Pep or Klopp! I am not saying Speakman is this roaring success either but I don't think we should change the model to accommodate Keane. I haven't heard anything and know nothing but I think Keane will be more open to working under this type of structure than the Keane we got in all those years ago. He can concentrate in the team and tactics etc and leave recruitment etc to others.
No chance should we be held hostage by anybody. We've been there and done that. I still think there's better options than Keane about, too.
