Great….. l woke up to fcuk all then. How the hell do we lose to Peterbrough? That’s a bad loss. I guess it’s better than losing a game the Championship though.
I'm going back to sleep When I wake up a different result might be in the shower and it's all been a dream
Was there - great support but we played like we were playing a PL team. Far too cautious with all the possession. They had 2 chances and stuck them away. Alberts chance at start or 2nd half would have changed dynamic but hey ho. Other general observations; Charlie is not a 90 min player Amos unlucky to be tugged Steff plays way too many safe and negative passes Really liked the look of Hendrick Train journey - all a bit of a shambles but back now with a glass of Chateauneuf de Pape and we go again on Wed
I don't get the whole slagging off Austin thing. Is he in a goal drought? No. Did we expect him to be some kind of midfield maestro? No. Is he still scoring some important goals for us? Yes. Give him the ****ing ball in the box and, often enough, he'll put it away. Don't give him the ball in the box and he will will be drawn out of the box and into midfield, where he's not a ****ing maestro. Simple.
I was bloody angry, I saw the statistics, then I calmed down after several 5% beverages, then I saw that Swansealona had beaten Blackburn so I then checked the table and realised we are in sight of a return to the promised land, then I wasn’t angry because I had an epiphany……………………. It’s probably better to be in the promised land with all it’s riches, than be outside of it holding a cup with nothing in it !!!
It's nothing we didn't already know, without Willock in the team we struggle to score, with 2 uptop we struggle to play well, Johansen is not playing very well for a while now. Chair needed those minutes under his belt, and Dunne and Dickie were playing out of position to accommodate the new lad. Hopefully the ones left out today will return v Boro and Adomah will start and Odebajo ****ing won't!
3 rested and no one injured today, so a full bill of health for Wednesday apart from Dieng who I doubt will be ready in time. No idea if Gray is available after Internationals for Jamaica but I hope he is , think we might need his speed in behind
I hope Austin isn't being slagged off, but I think we have to accept that he's a shadow of his former self. I don't doubt his commitment, but he's just no longer mobile enough to contribute fully. He hasn't lost his positional sense of course, which is superior to our other striking options, but if he's not quick enough to capitalise on it, it diminishes his effectiveness.
I can accept him playing poorly but this was possibly the first time I’d accuse him of a genuinely bad attitude/poor effort. Sometimes his body language is naturally not the best but it seemed like more than that today. Perhaps he had a knock and I’m reading too much into it but he was truly woeful today. With our plethora of midfielders and lack of strikers I think it ought to be Dykes with Chair and Willock as first choice with two in the middle.
Well they've been truly atrocious on the road this season, so if we don't beat them at HQ we don't deserve to go up automatically. Hopefully we'll turn up for the game and give them a right tonking, and Fulham !
Not many that I remember, in fact we played more long from the back than we often do. Johansen playing so far back was perhaps our main problem, he is better based in the middle of the park than just in front of the back 3 as much of the game yesterday.
I thought Odebajo was probably our best player, yesterday. Obviously Albert should always be first choice.
Albert 1st choice at RWB all right. But Odebajo must be close to replacing Wallace at LWB for Boro. Moses has been good the last couple of games, quick with some good crosses though erratic, while Wallace looks a bit off the pace at times, and can't remember a cross from him yesterday.
