Please take a look and if you find it post it to me. If you can't afford the postage for all of it just send me the blazer. .
I know he might still end up being a very naughty boy, but he seems like the messiah at present. He's just getting everything right isn't he?
He’s good at this lark no doubt but let’s face it he had a whole orchard of low hanging fruit to pick from!
The big question Acun is seeking an answer to is “How do we get more supporters to come to matches?” He has some very dynamic plans but really will welcome anything sensible and practical. I am expecting suggestions along the lines of reduced pricing, school tickets etc. What we need is innovative suggestions. Maybe something that hasn’t been done before. There is a warning, anything that might be suggested, Acun will probably already have it written down and priced up. I can guarantee that one of the things he is looking at doing, no owner will ever have considered it. Post on here if you like or PM me if you like.
We did not know what spaghetti was back then and we thought rice was only used in puddings, never mind knowing about such exotica as lentels and tofu
Perhaps he will have some great new ideas, I'm certainly looking forward to finding out what they are, but also moderately sceptical that he's into crypto bollocks and there's a chance it'll be something along those lines. But there's a good reason that it's so predictable people will say "cheap tickets" - because it's the obvious thing that works, by removing one of the biggest barriers to attending for people. He's already doing it with the Barnsley game thankfully and hopefully it'll be possible to do something similar more often thereafter.
Sounds great, especially if this dialogue is as genuine as it sounds. Original suggestions may be harder to come by, but as well as schools, I'd like to see a reach out to various community groups and grassroots football (of all ages) - across the city and ER. Maybe even start to make moves on the non-league territories of North Lincs. Rebuild some of links/trust that the Allam family burnt. Relapsed S/T holders/ Members (of last 5 or so years) getting a one-off discount to renew. Relax stewarding attitudes.
I dipped my toe into crypto on Coinbase. Wanted to see if I could make a few quid into a few more quid. There are sad ****s who revolve their entire personality around it though, and NFTs as well. It’s the same sort of people who watch Joe Rogan religiously and suck off Elon Musk. In hindsight, most people would go back in time and buy Bitcoin when it was dirt cheap if they could. The only real value crypto has is if you want to buy drugs on dark web using Tor. Other than that, it has zero benefit over fiat currency.
The club already has very good community outreach. I don’t think stewarding attitudes will increase the gate by 5k. Sorry if I sound cynical, it reads that way but that is not the intention.
Same here. Though if would have been nice to have had some of them. Always preferred sago pudding but couldn't eat it now.
We don't just need the very youngsters in the building with their parents, but the 13,14,15 year olds who in 3 to 5 years time will be essential for the revenue of the club. What's needed to get them in, I'm not sure.... Cheap tickets might not be the answer, a bit like not buying Pringles at full price knowing they'll be on offer in two or three weeks...
No problem. But I feel you need short term and long term ideas. Tigers Trust are good but a lot of damage was done by the last regime. Plus, in no way whatsoever, does their remit/funding cover all community groups/grassroots. We need to go to them, not the other way 'round. There's untapped potential in the city, some efforts other than cheap tickets, could do it - eventually. Anecdotally, I know/known a lot of people who might not say the stewards keep them from attending, but were part of the overall ****e experience in weighing up whether to attend.
Do we think we’ll return to season tickets, or at least have the option between a one-off payment or a monthly direct debit? I feel like a lot of people, myself included, like having the option to make a one-off payment at the start of the season and not have to worry about another direct debit coming out of your account every month on top of bills. People who can afford a season pass in the summer may not have that money in their account come winter, given how expensive Christmas can be.
To keep people returning apart from the obvious doing well on the pitch it means improving the match day experience, more relaxed stewarding is one part of this, a louder and better atmosphere is another, that means turning a blind eye to the odd flare let off, allowing fans to congregate better together forming a old fashoined kop part of the ground, getting safe standing implemented and lastly going back to the stewarding stop banning people for minor offences as it's not just them that are stopped going but there mates usually end up stopping going as well !
