Head Coach and other than having slightly less involvement in transfers and the academy it's largely the same job Steven Gerrard was Rangers manager and is now Aston Villa's Head Coach.
I'm just catching up with the thread but if he's at the AOL now then it's unlikely he'll make it back to Manchester for the ITV coverage. If that's the case then you'd assume that we'll need to make an announcement before their coverage starts at least.
Mind it’s only 2 and a bit hours to Manchester so he could be here til about now and still get there ok, or kld could helicopter him down
He is still down as doing the ITV coverage according to this... https://www.itv.com/presscentre/ep1week5/fa-cup-manchester-united-v-middlesbrough#
Already brought up that he finished 12th and 13th and hopes in the future that people will see it wasn't so bad finishing in those positions!
I've enjoyed and agreed with loads you've said on this thread (though I feel I'm warming to the idea much more than you now (getting swept up in the romance of it all!)) but those small nuances don't bother me. There's no set blue print for the DoF model and no absolute definition of what constitutes a coach vs a manager. There's no reason why we can't have some sort of a hybrid structure and I believe we already do and that we won't be making concessions in that regard whether it's Keane, McCann or anyone. Bear in mind Johnson had McCallister with him. Have you listened to the Speakman podcast yet by the way? That reassured me loads that we're not necessarily compromising our structure or our long term plans by appointing Keane. The risk/worry I suppose is that he's such a big presence that he'll dominate and bully KLD, Speakman, Harvey etc but I think they're a tougher bunch than many give them credit for.
He’ll probably be hoonded oot because of his links with Birmingham /villa (delete as appropriate) At least he can trott out the same old excuse when they get sick of his ****e football and turn against him
I don't think he will either, it was more the time to get there. Not sure I'd be going in a chopper in this wind. It's blowing a hooley up here
I was assuming they don't just rock up for the start of the programme mind. That they'd have make up, some sort of briefing etc. It's a good and valid point on the helicopter though I would say.
