Just to provide some calm here. Ignore most of the rags. Mugs. Keane has already had multiple conversations. He wants it, Safc want him. Discussions led to verbal agreement in principle. However, this isn't formal at all and needs more to get to that stage. Why I was saying yday that calm heads were needed for today. As for mcann - Safc need to have other people in frame incase the verbal agreement doesn't convert. That said, if it doesn't , I'll be absolutely seething and mcann would be poor sod who would have to deal with the fall out.
no point digging at any ITKs - the national journo's are getting conflicting info. See below frankly a modern day recruitment process is way more advanced than an interview and job offer. So there will be nuance within everything anybody hears. And its great the club are doing all the due diligence they need to
Really hope it's not a Poyet situation. All excited and full of optimism then it all fell flat and Johnson was appointed.
Can anyone on here organise KLD to ring me direct when this is all sorted so I don't have to refresh this page every ten minutes or so and I can get back on with my life. Who said being a Sunderland fan was dull and uniteresting, it's been like this for more years than I care to admit too PS. Just hope we get the right man for the job.
I'd forgotten about that. Maybe that was a factor in Johnson not being universally popular that I'd overlooked. Frankly, far more pleased with Johnson than Poyet though.
Looking at what's happened here since KLD took charge, it is not likely at all that any of these journalists - and that is stretching the term - know the square root of anything on this. If they do it's more or less a first. Very little has leaked out and this last year has shown that they know far less than a few on here. They always pipe up after things have been suggested here or somewhere similar. We'll all know soon enough. But these scribblers just need to put something out there to try and show they were onto it. They almost certainly were not, and the record shows it.
people need to not get hung up on who’s interviewed and when. The idea that each candidate gets one interview then we make a decision is proposterous. That’s just not how the world works for any sort of senior job, let alone the most important position at a football club. This is the biggest decision Speakman or KLD will have made in their lives. The idea they’d book interviews and sit around waiting for those to talk to people is insane. They’ll have had several conversations with several candidates. I’d bet Speakman has spoken to 10+ managers for an initial chat and immediately ruled several out. He’ll likely be constantly sharing stuff with the main candidates now - be it face to face, over phone, even constant WhatsApp back and forth. it’s why we will always hear conflicting things about when interviews take place. If somebody hears Speakman spoke to Roy on Monday - they’ll report that as an interview. And if that’s the case there have probably been hundreds of interviews.
Imagine your as hard as a pipe and your lass is just about to finish you off and blow your load. She then remembers there's a pizza in the oven and leaves high and dry That's how I'd feel if we don't appoint Roy Keane and end up with another candidate on the list.
