But which one am I ... ... the grumpy old man, the caveman or the argumentative charmer Possibly a mix of all three tbf
Think a short term contract works perfectly for all parties. If he feels he can't work under Speakman, then he gets to piss off after a few months. Vice versa. I also think he'll be more open to the possibility of working for a DoF now - he's been out of the game a little while, so won't have as many player contacts etc. He might therefore want the additional support. And let's face it, we're not likely to get much better while we're in L1...
Good post mate. My support for Keane rests entirely on what I see as his motivational ability to get a talented League 1 squad of players into top gear and over the finish line. What happens from there will,as you rightly say, develop into a test of his wider abilities as a coach and as a man, able to work within the club structure and philosophy. Mine is a short term view,I know, but this is an opportunity which I think we should take.
Can't see there being an announcement today to be honest. The club are massively pushing this Saturday as the 'Defoe Homecoming' and I think announcing Keane pre-game now would ruin that PR drive they're are going for. Sunday announcement would make the most sense to me. Hope it is announced today though.
I keep hearing most of the players will love playing under Keane and it will lift them, and there is others who won’t enjoy working under a manager who demands 110% all the time, I think they need to get used to the idea we will be waving them goodbye shortly and they can go and play for LJ again.
I agree with that. No disrespect to Doncaster but surely we don't need the extra boost of a new manager to beat them. The new man wouldn't gain any credit with a win tbh.
I think an announcement today, with RK sitting in the stand with KLD and KS tomorrow, would give us all a complete lift after last Saturday, will guarantee a full house, and won't detract from the JD homecoming at all, which is going to be electric in its' own right.
Simon Grundy just slipped up On sun fm and said who would have thought Roy Keane would be back in the dug out tomorrow then went oops! I don’t think I was supposed to say that yet
We have had a bit of a habit of late where the new manager loses his first game in charge then wins the next, i hope this is all in the past.

If we decide not to open the Premiere Concourse, we're close to selling out anyway. Announcing Keane wouldn't be able to add any extra numbers as we'll have practically sold out what's available. Don't think they'll open the concourse this late.
