I think it's not quite done, but it's very nearly done. We are all expecting an announcement tomorrow but gut feel is that it will be Sunday Not bad - 7 days from sacking to appointing
I am confident that the Owner/Executives are going about the recruitment process the right way. They seem to be clear about what they want (both short term and long term) and will only make an offer to someone who fits that. Obviously the Roy Keane from 2008 would seemingly be quite far away from those requirements (to the outside, anyway), but it would really be up to Keane to demonstrate to Sunderland how he is going to fit into the current structure, and have the vision to take the team forward. Having said that, my heart is screaming his name. I would love the Keane proposal to work out if its suits all parties. If it's not him, I think it probably just wasn’t meant to be.
With multiple references to the fact that it depends on the main players (KLD, Keane etc) doing what we want them to do to make it happen. If it doesn't the lads who post on here have got zero to be embarrassed about.
Just watching the Roy Keane and Gary Neville interview where they're walking the dog. It's ****ing brilliant and I really really hope we get this over the line! He's a totally different bloke to the one we had when he last managed us and I think he'd be incredible.
Here's my take on it. Donald and Methven are hanging around like a bad smell for only one reason....money. They probably have a deal to sell up when we're promoted from L1, at a certain fixed amount. Now that we're so close to going up, and with the imminent arrival of RK, they've spotted an opportunity to play hardball with KLD, if they tow the line and accept the appointment they still have to wait for their payment. However, if they make a bit of a nuisance of themselves, which threatens the RK appointment, they can ask for an early settlement to make them go away. This gets them paid without the promotion risk. Some people would call it blackmail, but ****esters like Donald and Methven will call it business. I could be miles off, but we shouldn't forget that their only motivation is money, always was the case. I hope this brings it to a head, and we finally **** them off down the road, and get on with getting this club back where it belongs. FTM
I get the feeling some would love it not to happen, just so they can thumb their noses to those who have said it is
And things can change. They are just passing on what theyve heard. If Keane wakes up this morning and thinks "nah, changed my mind" it doesn't make any of the info they have passed on invalid. It was correct at the time
Yeah. That's the feeling I'm getting. Goes back to the old SMB thing of "rather be right than be happy"
